My case is different, in my home more men less women. Men don't watch daily soap yet they keep a tab on it by peeping in occationally. Even myself never watched daily soap with dedication 3 years back, but now since I took a break from my job started watching soaps. My MIL watches according to her choice, My co-sister's situation is same as mine, but she is a working women. Now coming to men they watches their shows (news, CNWK, sports ) on-line . But occationally there is fight for remote during lunch or dinner time 😆

My fight is with my daughter over cartoons vis-a-vis serials. However, if the poor soul looks at the screen and catches a glimpse of Pratsi, she tosses the remote back to me... Uff, that's your Pratyusha... dekh lo <you watch> 😆

This thread is for TRP reporting which has been outsourced to some esteemed members who take special efforts getting info n doing analysis for the show they dont watch n actors whom they do not like😆😆

Gals, gals, calm down...
Why are you paying attention to someone who wants it??Let her come and waste her time (even though she says she does not have it 😛) by posting replies that are as long as some OSs 😊Personally, my eyes blank out when I read such long pieces of text, but I read this one when I saw what pains the post maker took to reply to each and every person here.Poor thing (and perhaps her friends too) is in pain; let them vent out... they are deeply hurt by us, poor souls. We've got over them; they haven't. Simple piece of truth.Solution: Let them give the POVs. Its a free world after all. And we all should learn to ignore the people and the opinions we do not like.
This reminds me of an interesting story in Indian Mythology. There were two guys, one a devout devotee of Lord Shiv(why does the name not leave me!) and the other a hater of Shivji. Every evening the devotee would go to a Shiv temple and burn a lamp for the Lord and the hater would follow him to blow off the lamp.
Once it was raining and thundering, the devotee did not go but the hater went to accomplish his mission but saw no lamp. Lord Shiv, however, said he considered the hater a bigger devotee as he came despite all odds to fulfill his purpose.
Hence, moral of the story, welcome our guests warmly as they are more dedicated to our cause than us and peace to the troubled souls!!
My personal opinion is that trps would remain the same for some time, then show a hike, this has been the case for all new serials, whether, Meri Aashiqui.. or Ek Hasina Thi or many floundering ones of Rangeelas!

in his household, he said they can't watch the shows they like in prime time coz elders want the TV to be ON on a channel/show they are accustom to watch...whether they like what's on or not, really watch it or carry a side conversation or not...but they are not allowed to switch the channel...so they catch it in reruns or on the net... hmmm...is it really like that? me American, we have TV in every room including kitchen...😛everybody watches their shows, whenever and wherever... 😆curious, do any of you relate to this? 😔

Hello Lili 🤗 How r u?Well about 65-70% of homes in India do watch prime time TV together. Reason being : a single TV, dinner time, family hour etc. And mostly channels are watched according to the wish of elders like grandparents (whichever serial they want to watch), after that father's (normally NEWS, business News or sports channel, then comes kids (cartoon channel) and then the ladies of the house, teenagers do not get any preference (they are told to go and study or nobody wants to watch whatever they want to watch so teens normally watch shows on another TV - if available or catch up with their favorite shows online.. So, this is how the preference in watching TV is given in about 70% of Indian households. Now coming to TRP. Sony has been getting low TVT and TRP from a long time (though it has been showing good shows ) and Sony's TRP has dropped a lot after it has openly spoken out against the current TRP system indirectly naming the companies who are in the teams which calculate TRP and are also partners in Top ranking Channels. That is why Sony has come up with its own website sonyliv where it uploads its serials after 2-3 hrs of their telecast time, and also on their youtube channel . Just have a look at the no. of views on Sony's serials on youtube and compare it with other high TRP gaining serials. you would understand yourself. And these views certainly increase during weekends which shows that Sony has a viewership comprising of younger generation, working people, men and housewives whereas Top ranking channels according to TRP have viewership comprising mostly of housewives...
