Yes watched the movie in theatres.
Its definitely one of the better horror movies in recent times . Well it isn't scary but it has some moments that keeps you on the edge .
I liked the movie cause kids were funny , especially that guy with the specs 🤣. Also the plot was intriguing supported by fine direction .
I'd say it was rather a thriller with some creepy moments . Looking forward to the next part . :D

Anabelle creation was a disappointment. I was really looking forward to it but it just pumped down all the expectations, I had.
Typical horror story and the kids doing exactly what they aren't supposed to. Not relatable at all.
Even conjuring 2, being a very hackneyed movie had a better story and a better cast at acting.

IT is not an out and out horror movie. It's more a thriller and a very good one at it. The background score is just chilling. Watched it on first day. I liked how comedy was infused in some scene. It's worth watching for sure.

Conjuring is still the best horror flick in recent times.

I have read the book, so will let you know how the movie fares.

did you watch logan lucky?

Annabelle Creation is just an okay one-time watch. Only few jumpscares will make you scared. Very forgettable movie I'll say. IT is much better in terms of both story and scary moments.
No I've not watched Lucky Logan. I'm not much fond that genre and I'm also skipping alot of of movies nowadays. In last three months, I've only watched four new movies Dunkirk, Annabelle Creation, JJ and now IT. 😆

I also loved Friday the 13th series & the last part of the Evil Dead series which released in 2013.

Friday the 13th falls on the slasher genre, but yeah it is also a part of horror. Yes I liked that series, but Nightmare on the elm street is better as a slasher film IMO. Evil dead series is also awesome.
The Conjuring series is good too, though the Annabelle movies are just okay types. Didn't like The Grudge movies.

IT still falls on the horror genre only. But I agree that Conjuring series is more scary. It has a more eerie setting. But I'll say IT is overall a better movie.

Our cable walla had played the 1990 IT movie series and our whole locality was mesmerized by it and used to wait for the next part eagerly and discuss every part excitedly. We all loved it. Waiting to watch this version.
IT was really really scary at that time as were all other horror movies --- Nightmare on Elm street, Omen, Excorcist, Polttergeist etc. Actually in those times all horror movies seemed so scary but if you watch them now you dont feel scared at all. I miss being scared with horror movies now. Scared hote hi nahi... but its still my favorite genre.

Me too! It was on TV again before the new release came out and I was thinking "how was this scary to me as a kid?" Still fun to watch.
