On Hollywood's biggest night, the celebs showed us exactly what star status looks like. Let's just say there were bold colors, sparkle and ball gowns a plenty. While a pretty dress gets you noticed, confidence is the difference between leading the style pack and getting lost in a sea of sequins.

By now, the sheer, embellished gown (a.k.a. the naked dress) seems like a tired trend, but on Quantico star Priyanka Chopra, it's absolute perfection. The metallic belt keeps the look from leaning too bridal while the simple hair and makeup complemented the dress in all the right ways.

Celebs didn't have to wear over-the-top gowns to shine either. Olivia Munn, for instance, made a statement in an orangey-red, one-shoulder Stella McCartney dress. The seemingly simple silhouette just made the overall look all the more impactful.

Then there was Lady Gaga, whose all-white pantsuit pretty much shut down the carpet.
