It's hard to believe but Paris Hilton claims she's nothing like her character in the reality show, The Simple Life. She merely puts on an act
The hotel heiress and her former best friend Nicole Richie star in the popular programme The Simple Life, but Hilton deliberately set out to invent a character not like her true self. She says, "Simple Life is a reality show and people might assume it's real. But it's fake. All reality shows are fake basically. When you have a camera on you, you are not going to act yourself. So before I started the show I thought I'd make a character like the movies. Legally Blonde and Clueless mixed together, with a rich girl all-in-one. Even my voice is different from me in real life. It's a character I like to play. I think it's a character that's carefree and happy. The public think they know me but they really don't."
What about Paris caught partying on TV? "I'm just doing my job," Paris insists, saying that she is simply doing "paid work" whenever she is seen partying at trendy night-spots – and she is actually not enjoying herself at all. The blonde heiress says it is her duty and her job to go out and live it up, and wishes the public could understand how shy she actually is. She says, "If you see pictures of me out I'm being paid. When I turn up at an event it is work. People don't think I'm shy but I am. When the cameras are and they are taking pictures then it's my job." She puts up a damn good pretence, we've got to admit.
