I have never come across a most unrealistic mother in television than Kutumb. She makes the scariest of mother in law's (in TV of course) look meek.

When she remained uncaring, cruel and rude in face of her own daughter's (who fed, clothed, sheltered and loved her for a good part of her life) death, the whole sequence looked totally unbelievable to me. When she wanted the house to be auctioned before even the funeral pyre burned down, she looked like an alien species to me. When she dreamt to be covered with gold, soon after her most eligible daughter's death, she took the 'unrealistic' factor to a whole new level. Who in the world treats their grand children with such contempt.

Even the best of actors with their almighty acting cannot make this whole scenario believable for me.

The writers of the story did not have to shame motherhood to such pathetic levels. For me, they haven't done a convincing job of it.

I salute the artistic brain who conceived this character. There are no parallels to this one.

Dhanya di first of all Thanks for making this Post!!! 🤗 It was the need of Hour.
i would like to throw light on some after Indira death sequences, where kutumb was being shown silently crying with Inder who every now and then mentioned Babli. I felt a mother in her actually took birth after the death of Indira, The mother for whom we all waited. Before BT track kutumb has never been concerned about Indira, all that mattered for her was money. And now after Indira returned back, she has been interested only in Zara for the prize she for as money. I have been always interested to discuss "Does really such Mother on the earth ever exist???" Some people might refer about mothers who abort their child; for them my answer will be itself its a crime, but killing a child alive after staying with her for 22 years, isnt it more than that??? A child breaths, but is killed inside, that only kutumb did to indira; Indira was alive but her feelings, emotions all were killed!!! Why cvs??? Is it the theme of female empowerment ?? If it is then we dont want such empowerment where a mother forgets the word "Mamta"!!

Yes, this kind of unrealistic mothers exists only in HD and nowhere else.

We shd not call her as a "mother" any more as it is a shame on the beautiful word.

But still, Kutumb cared for Mandira and Munna more than Indira, why? Sorry "cared" ka matlab little more concern showered on them other than Indira. This seems more unrealistic. The reason may be Indira is different than Munna and Mandira and does not support them in their bribe plans.

Till now I have not read any news like Mother Killing her own daughter for money's sake. They could have shown some reality for this "Kutumb's" Character.

Yes I agree that she is the most unrealistic mother ever in the tellywood.

yes her character has been tarnished like no other's. But the question is, is it believable?

Of all the relationships in the world the most unconditional one and godly one is that of a mother. Earlier when she was shown selfish and extremely partial towards her children, i could think (believe) that such characters might exist. But when she celebrated the death of her daughter, and couldnt wait to get rid of her daughter's dead body, that is absolutely absurd for even the most self centered and partial mother.

I also agree with shewth297's point that when she could care for the useless munna and selfish mandira, she could have more than cared for Indira. Esp when she could care for mandira (ruling out gender bias), i cant think of a reason to hate Indira to the extend that she celebrates her death.

More over, i also dont think that Sejal Ji has the looks or body language to carry out convincingly the cruel mother Kutumb. In fact i am happy about that, as i would never want to feel hatred for the most beautiful relationship (mother and child) in this world.

One more thing I have to mention dhanya. Not only mothers role has spoiled, but fathers relationship is also been flawed here. Just look at the Inder's attitude before. I have seen the fathers who marry second time would not give much importance to previous wife and their children. But in our HD, Inder has crossed the limits. You can also remember the hospital scene where Indira looked after Inder for the entire night, but he did not cared for his daughter, but only worried abt his wealth and cheated her many times. No daughter shd get a father like this. But now they changed his role to positive. We really don't know how this changed happened suddenly only in Inder other than kutumb.

But, I wish they don't spoil the father and mother relationship in respect to Indu.Though Indu does not call rishi as his father, she always calls him as "mera rishikumar". Though rishi was rude before in respect to Indu, he always love his daughter and ready to do anything for her.

I wanted to see some positivity in the parents relationship atleast from the Indu's point.

Yeah papa Inder is definitely not a role model for a father. But cruel father's are not exactly unheard of. Hence it was not unbelievable, though his positive transformation looks too good to be true. But then he is not shown as 'normal' after the leap right? He doesnt recognize his wife and son always. It looks like he has lost a nut in his brain. Hence his adherence to the family and care for Indira could be because of his current mental state. I guess it is safe to say that it would be good for the sharma family if he never regains his normal mental state, while the rest of the viewers pray for indira to become normal and her old Hitler self.
