The Cvs have been ruining most characters. Rishi's character has been ruined since long time. My only hope is Indira. Zara's character does'nt hold that well either for me, since she came to SN. let's watch what they do with Indira. One can only hope😊

I don't really sympathize with Shweta's character because I believe that she herself in a large part is responsible for her current circumstances. She saw an opportunity to marry Rishi despite knowing that he didn't want the marriage and proceeded anyway. I understand that this is a fictional show but I just don't understand how people can actually think that how women are potrayed in these shows is somehow admirable. Is no one bothered by the fact that these women take absolutely no initiatives twoards their own happiness?

The idea of women independence is totally different in the TV world , specially Indian soap world. Here they show a woman is strong when she can use her loud mouth , not her brain. The CVs love to make mockery of women intelligence. They think a woman is a pure soul when she tolerates torture, suffering from others and takes no initiative to improve her lot.

They create their female characters with mediocre mentality.

Right- I agree. But what bothers me is that some of the audience actually takes these women to be the epitome of a perfect wife/mother/daughter. How the audience perceives these characters is more worrying than what is actually being shown. I won't get into Rishi's character here but Shweta is a horrible role model for Indu- woman spends her entire life lamenting after a man without any sense of personal identity or purpose and people actually applaud her for this behavior!
