He stripped down to the waist, worked hard, schemed and almost made it to the top rung of contestants in Survivor India. But now, Abhinav Shukla is taking a leaf out of Russell Crowe's book for his next television appearance.
Abhinav has been signed on to play a Harvanyi cop called Sumer Chaudhry opposite Rati Pandey in the show Hitler Didi. Rati's character Indira will be seen approaching Abhinav for help to trace her husband Rishi, missing ever since their court marriage. The story follows Rati in her dealings with the tough-as-nails cop — who might just be hiding a mysterious and rather painful past. What is certain is that sparks are bound to fly between the dictatorial Rati and the macho Abhinav.
The twist may just see Rati developing inappropriate feelings for Abhinav, losing track of her goal. If the track does work out, the storyline will bear a remarkable resemblance to the Meg Ryan-Russell Crowe starrer, Proof of Life, in which Meg's character, on the lookout for her husband, tangles emotionally with the man she's engaged to help in her search — Russell Crowe.
