this is common reaction from parents in india--when there children are in love and want to marry there love.
the attitude of parents is simple--
humne bees saal tumhe sab kuch diya--in 6 months this boy become more that us .
so nothing much i have problem with yesterday scene.
in love storys -- parents reaction mostly same hota hai--at least in films and serials.

though we know kutumb is selfish but her reaction yesterday is of mother who though her daugher - who can never do thing without her acknowledgment took a big step of marriage and more over for the first time her husband slapped her infront of every one... so her out burst is justified...
how selfish one can be but no one can accept if there daughter marry without there knowledge and husband humiliating her infront of everyone...
