February 15, 2012: Repercussions of Silence
I just finished the episode a few minutes ago and I seriously feel like yelling. Out of frustration...Out of pain for these two characters, Ricky and Indira...
I feel awful for Indira because she did stand up for herself, but she was expecting more support from Rishi, I think...The pain in her eyes, in her voice...the way she couldn't even finish her sentences because the words kept getting caught in her throat...I may be the only one who feels this, but...she loves this man so much that this is hurting her. She has accepted him as one who is truly her own...and Rishi's helplessness is hurting her even though she doesn't know why he is silent. Rati was brilliant today.
On the other side of the invisible line...Ricky aka Rishi Kumar. He's been shielding Indira from the most bitter truth for months, committing blunders but then trying to rectify them so as to not expose his identity and by extension, Vidit's condition. He's in by far the most difficult position - good intentions, bad timing, bad circumstances...It's like the entire world is against him right now. He can't say too much, but at the same time he just couldn't stay silent when his mother raised her hand to hit Indira. After thinking about the significance of Rishi's silence, I think the most poignant moment for me (besides that single tear slipping from his eye earlier in the scene) was when his mother offers the blank check to Indira...Indira turns to look at Rishi, he turns away, and her expression changes to one of subtle disbelief...She was expecting him to say something, which he eventually does, but by then she is too shattered. What Rishi couldn't express in words, Sumit expressed through his body language. He looked so helpless, so much like a victim of unfortunate circumstances, wishing for things to turn out better although he knows the worst is yet to come.
Oh, my god. So much pain in today's episode. SO much pain, on both sides of the dividing line.

I got the same feelings when I watched this episode. It was all about helplessness and pain. I had difficulties digesting it.😕

Thanks for sharing your view about ep 😳

Reading so much comments on ep 😊

It sounds so sad and incredible. The way they unfolded the truth and the performance seemed perfect. And the feeling of sadness 😭 for both Indira and Rishi in us all.

I just can't wait too watch 😍

So I have finished watching the epi and after yesterday's hazy episode (yes, it was hazy to me) today everything was clear.
However, as rightly said sorrow follows smile, after first 5 minutes of laugh it was all very emotional. As Borna has rightly mentioned in her post, my heart too went out for Indira. She trusted Rishi, gave him enough chances to rectify himself but he could not even keep up his words of never hurting her. For the first time she realised that some strong reason is holding him back from divulging his true self. She tried her best to get it out from him but he preferred staying quiet troubling her further. And to help him or say to finally blow off his facade, there comes is real mom. Inspite of seeing Indira in pain I disapprove her action of humiliating Mrs. Diwan based on her previous encounter. She should have atleast some dignity to an elderly person as an educated and well-mannered girl. So when Mrs. Diwan slapped her for the first time I was not very hurt. Somewhere I felt she called it upon herself. Well later, ofcourse, Mrs. Diwan went to extreme.

Coming on to Mr. Rishi/Ricky, this was bound to happen. Even if I want to be sorry for him I cannot be. Good that he acknowledged his real mom and stopped her from further humiliating Indira. And the well-deserved slaps were already given to him by his fake mother. As far as shielding Indira from bitter truth is concerned, he could have still done it by revealing his true self. No doubt SV was very good with emoting Rishi's helplessness.

That's it for now.

now cvs need to justify his hope less position.

agree -he is on duty.-he is doing all this for vidith.

but why??why he so much care for vidith??

now cvs should double check before telling why rishi doing so much for vidith.

very very strong reason needed.

otherwise it becomes joke.

Saurajji, at this point the strongest reason for Rishi is Indira and her true love for him 😃. And for Indira, Vidhit is her life. So he is taking special care of him.

Thank you all for taking the time to reply! 😊
I completely agree that Rishi deserved what he got for even thinking to bring in actors to pose as his parents...But then again, the fact that Vidit's well-being (and Indira's) is linked to Rishi's real identity is one of the biggest complications. If he had brought his real mother, then the whole Diwan Builders deal would have come out in the open that much faster, along with everything else. Ah well, the roads are many, the destination one, it seems. Since we're probably going to hit rock-bottom in Thursday's episode, I can't say that I wasn't anticipating for things to turn out badly. The way Rishi has been behaving (and has been forced to behave thanks partly to his elder brother) and Indira's insistence to know more about Rishi and his family - this couldn't have ended happily. That's why I decided instead to focus on how Indira's and Rishi's interactions were presented in the episode, as an indicator of how this incident is impacting their relationship. Let's see how much worse this will get.

Yes Borna, you are right about hitting rock-bottom. Now I am looking forward to the celestial intervention in form of Amma who would help this relationship sustain inspite of Sam's bad intentions.
