I have always been silent on this forum. Last night after watching General DIDI as its called in the USA. I realized that Indira is a physical abuser. She has PHYSICALLY ABUSED Rishi three times so far. This is simply not accepted. What are the creatives trying to prove here? Her capability of hurting someone who is a BIGGER person than her.

I think the creatives need to end this depiction of INDIRA as a person who has no control over her anger. I do understand she has problems..But slapping physically hurting someone is disgusting.

Would we have accepted a MALE main lead slapping a FEMALE lead thrice?

Such things are a shame to watch. I am hoping that some Creatives come forward and read this post.

I am also planning to write to Zee. Its as simple as this. What is wrong for a WOMAN is also wrong for a MAN. No double standards here and no excuses.

in general domestic/physical vilence is wrong -yes but the big but is that the receiving end is the paryy which decides if the hit/slap is abuse or a part of the relation between the two parties.

any woman getting beaten up is usually wrong because most of the times its unprovoked and uncalled for in reality as well as on tv. its because the men/ in laws/parents/siblings are either drunk on power or on alcohol . lot of times the women in question has nothing whatsoever to the main mudda in question.

in HD, indira slapping ppl left and right is wrong but not a crime because always she has had a specific reason . its her personality fault, she can handle it differently but she doesnt know how to.
thats why shes hitler.

and wrt rishi, its actually a bond between them- like he asked her if she didnt slap him bcoz he mattered or bcoz he didnt matter anymore? consider role reversal - if rishi was hitler like, then hitting,slapping wouldnt have made any effect simply because its a mans nature to be more physical than women whetehr for good or bad. as its awoman whos hitler like and woman generally scream or cry their frustrations out, its an unusual behavior to slap. its wrong but not a crime- i wuldnt put it as abuse simply because rishi doesnt think shes wrong.

having written all this- let me say. i love the slaps esp the hospital one.

the taunts that indira gives and gets from her family is more in line with domestic violence

physical abuse happens when people feel abused...rishi shows no such feeling of feeling insulted or anything...where exactly does physical abuse come from? and have you seen the show subhagyavati bhava? please do? now thats what is known as physical abuse...

I posted this topic after a lot of thought. I read all the reasons for Indira's behavior. Well, it doesn't change much for me but its always good to be open minded and hear other views.

As far as checking out other shows are concerned honestly I don't watch regressive dramas like Saas Bahu. I prefer progressive dramas like General Didi as its called here in the US. I started watching this drama because I like the premise of this one.

just to add, a lot of the saas bahu sagas are boring yes but a lot are not regressive. some are worth watching just to laugh at the stupidities!😊

slapping is not correct- agreed, its a personality flaw in indira -agreed
but between rishi/indira its taken a differnt meaning-colour , so though wrong its not an abuse + not a crime
