If Indira ends up with Sameer , it will ruin her whole character which is based on value and principle. As a value oriented person, it is natural for her to respect the " Marriage " even though she is expressing it. She also knows that Rishi has feelings for her and helps her all the time . If she lives him than she can be compared with her father who left their family for his own happiness . Both of them would be in selfish category. If she was an western girl , I would not have any problem because western girls can marry any time and divorce time.They can even marry now and can file for divorce after 5 hours. Marrying Sameer will be the lost of her essence.

Like Alujna-1 said in another post, it is quite insult to say that Macaou marriage is not valid in India and it is also insult to Mute people as they can't say " I do " when they get married ( some people thinks marriage didn't occur between Rishi and Indira because she didn't say I do ".)
