Hello, dear history enthusiasts!

Image

Every historical site has a story to tell, and what better way to capture its essence than through our own lenses?

This thread is an open invitation for you to share your personally clicked photographs from any destination of historical importance across the world! 🏰⛩️🏛️

Along with your picture, add a one-sentence caption that best describes your capture—be it a historical fact, the name of the place along with its historical importance, a personal reflection or the emotions it evoked in you.

Let’s travel through time and places together, one photo at a time, in a single post! 📷✨

Looking forward to seeing the history you’ve captured!

We will feature the best captured photos of yours in a special thread of our forum every month.

Shri Mahakaleshwar Jyotirlinga Temple dedicated to Shiva and is one of the twelve Jyotirlingas, shrines which are said to be the most sacred abodes of Shiva. It is located in the ancient city of Ujjain in the state of Madhya Pradesh, India. The temple is situated on the side of the holy river Shipra. The presiding deity, Shiva in the lingam form is believed to be Swayambhu, deriving currents of power (Shakti) from within itself as against the other images and lingams that are ritually established and invested with mantra-shakti. This picture captured by me in 2022.
