In Book 5, Hermionie tends to agree with Ron's Mother I suppose, that Sirius sees more of James in Harry and even tends to treat him way...

For starters its also what JKR said in an interviw... if i remember right when the interviewe asked her why she killed sirius she laughed and said that she did so because he was treating harry lyk james and it was just not done... thats why i was so angry about it... and i dunt think he was treating harry lyk james personally... he was treating harry lyk d way harry wanted to be treated... lyk the grown up he was... i think if harry and sirius had lived together harry would have bcum so much secure...

Does he see James in him , or his own younger self, that he could have been ... had fate not played the cruel twist in his life?

sirius had a greeat childhood apart from family life.. but then who really has the perfect childhood? im sure he saw james in harry as he loked so much lyk him.. it would have been diff to se himself in harry for harry is so very diff frm sirius and personally i think harry is a gary-sue and totally dislike him so dont anyone dare say that sirius nad harry r alike... sirius is selfish, proud, reckless, arrogant, hot-headed and he makes the perfect man.... dunt get me started on harry!!!
