I'm going to a Harry Potter party tomorrow at Borders Bookstore, and I'm very excited. So I thought it would be cool to start a thread - how many of you have Harry Potter parties in your area? Are you planning to go to them? If so, what are you wearing -- costumes or muggle clothes? In addition, give us a little about the activites that are going to take place at the party you're attending. I hear Spellbound is one of the biggest parties this year -- anyone going to it?

OK, so the party at Borders Bookstore starts at 9:00 PM, and I believe it's going up till 2:00 AM. The activities include: face painting, quizzes, prizes, and a lot of other things. I can't quite recall them now. The book will be available from midnight. I think the person who's wearing the best costume gets a free copy of the book. Quite cool. I'm sure it going to be a lot of fun. I'm wearing muggle clothes actually - I just found out about the party at Borders today, and it's tomorrow, therefore I won't have time to buy a costume. In any case I think I would prefer muggle clothes -- though I'm probably wearing a pointy wizard's hat to go along with it, provided I can lay my hands on one tomorrow.

So, what about you guys?

I'm going to one tonight at Barnes and Noble. Its going to start at 9:30 and I think it'll end at 2:30. I'm really excited. SiMz and I are going to participate in the Harry Potter contest. The winner gets a free Harry Potter and the Half Blood Prince Deluxe Edition and a free stuffed Hedwig toy.

I cant wait!!!!!!!!!!!

WOW! You guys are damn lucky! I wont have time to attend any parties - too busy with Univ and work.

i don't think that there is any parties in india specially where i stay coz i hav never heard of it if there were any parties i would hav definetly had gone 4 it ( here in mumbai ) ... u guys r sooo lucky.. but there is this school who is sellin HP and HBP in half the price and the original copy...i hope i get it 😭

It wont be that great. Last time my dad took us and he was complaining the WHOLE TIME! But it is fun. Last time, there was a HUGE RUSH on the stroke of midnight, when the bookstore doors finally opened. The guy opening the door got trampled😆.

I've pre-ordered mine from Amazon.com, but I'm going to the Barnes and Noble party newayz. just 4 fun. I'm sure you'll get a copy in mumbai. i got GoF when i was in india on the same day it released.

You'll definitely get a book daniel_4ever. It's releasing worldwide on the 16th. When OotP came out, my dad was in India for a vacation - and he was leaving a day after it released. He got it for me. I'm sure you'll get it. Don't worry. As for the parties, I think they're having one or two in India. I read it some where, but you're right, it might be too far from where you live. I think the one I saw was going to be in Delhi - not sure though. You can easily run a Google search for it though - type in Harry Potter parties in India or something. You might get it. Good luck! That sucks Mystica. I'm so sorry. But atleast you get the book, right? No excuses about Uni being too hectic when time comes to read the book!😆 BTW - the party is in less than nine hours... and I can't wait.
