Pretend

Some time ago i decided to play
A little game that would brighten my day
I got my tiara, though it was out of trend
And I set off to play pretend

I had a throne and even a scepter
I thought things could not get any better
But before the day could come to an end
You said I was too old to play pretend

The next day came so bright and new
I woke up and I wondered what I'd do
I found a small, black doctor's kit
It had a big, red cross on it

I said I'm a doctor, one who could heal
I haven't graduated, but what's the bi g deal
I thought broken bones I could mend
But you said I was too old to play pretend

Now I love you and you know its true
But you don't feel the same, what can I do?
I'd let my feelings come to end
But am I not too old to play pretend?
