Yes, dark shadows usually means evil shadows.. but in my riddle the word "dark" was used to indicate the "the intensity" of the shadow and not "the evilness" of the shadow.. for HR her mother's shadow was even darker bcoz RR was extremely famous and one of the co founders of Hogwarts..for HR breaking away from this intense adulation (dark shadow) made it difficult to carve her own identity..

I totally get y u thought the answer to my riddle was Merope .. there was so much logical reasoning .. she fits a lot of descriptions in the riddle..and the "dark" shadows further solidified this speculation.. in fact when u mentioned Merope , I went through my riddle again n thought, " well yeah , it might as well be voldy's mom!" 😆

ya merope fits in most clues but all..and def not the last line...HR fits perfectly..so don't worry..😊

ahhm..ahmm..well dark does NOT mean intense Akash...it means sinister..myseterious..etc...sorry for me being too vocal...but whatever...over-all a gr8 riddle...😊 and concentrate on my above post!!😆

Lumos that was clever !..but pitching me against twila ?! 😲.. she is a senior member of this thread and I believe she was also a part of previous two threads whereas I m just 3 days and 5 riddles old !! so how is that fair?.. 😆..n I was under the impression that you too r a part of the wizarding community!.. and you are yet to debut?!.. 😡 😆.. tell u what , since the race has been declared for 10 riddles, y dont u come up next 5 riddles ?.. we ll combine ours and make it 10!.. m sure the witches won't mind though since there r a lot of them and just 2 of us!.. so eagerly waiting for ur riddles..😃

I beg to differ.."dark" can be used to indicate a lot of things especially in a riddle where there is a lot of wordplay.. dark/darker can mean sinister, colour, impregnable, intense and so on..

I would have certainly akash,...but i have exams and my brain is not working elsewhere😕...i will treat u all with riddles post my exams...ie after 10th june😊..till then u have to shoulder the responsibility on ur own!*gives a responsible brotherly pat*😃...

In the context of my 5th riddle, let me further explain how 'dark' works..although it may or may not work for u..😆

Dark shadows:( usually means an evil shadow but here it is not so)

Shadows as such are dark ( colour black).. and a shadow which a 'dark shadow' is 'black black' or ' dark dark' .. hence its intensity is twice ...and thereby, making it difficult to get out of the shadow due to its increased intensity..

Now that's the best explanation I could provide..if it still doesn't suffice then yes it was wrongly used in the riddle..

BTW I dont think 'dark' can mean mysterious as such..it can mean sinisterly mysterious.. but not mysterious as such..
