yeah i think regulus is RAB too
i also came up with the same idea that the locket was the 1 which harry and others couldnt open while cleaning up the Grimmauld Place(5th book).
I think kreacher must have hidden it in a safe place.

Okay, I got a lil confused while reading the post, but I hope I got the point.. 😊

Here's what I think:

RAB is Regulus Black. I dunno how he found out about Voldy's horcrux and how he destroyed it.. He might have as well overheard Voldy talking to someone about his Horcrux, and found out about it. And, like someone mentioned before Rugulus was too UNIMPORTANT to be killed by Voldy himself.. He must've been a very loyal servant of Voldemort, but when he realized that Voldy thought he wasn't important, he might have decided to destroy his horcrux, but I dunno how.. He might've found that part out by overhearing something too, or his magical abilities could've also improved by living with the Dark Lord, and he was able to do it successfully..

Anyways, and then the locket, he probably took it home, and he tried to destroy it.. Voldemort certainly had probably cursed the locket, so he got weaker and weaker by the curse, but wasn't able to destroy the horcrux.. Seeing him getting weaker and weaker, Voldemort probably ordered one of his "servants" to kill him off, since he never thought he was important anyways, and probably thought now he wouldn't be that useful.. But, the locket might still be the horcrux.. And, I'm afraid of one thing, remember Mundungus stole many things from the Grimmauld Place and sold it? So could it be that he stole the necklace as well and sold it? I'm not really sure about the possibilty of Mundugus stealing the necklace, but it could be possible...

Sorry, for the long post, but it's just what I think happened.. 😳 😛

Yeah, it certainly would! Too bad Dumbledore and Harry didn't know about RAB before, so they didn't have to go the lake, and all the incidents happening after they went to the lake wouldn't have happened either.. 😭
