No, I do not think so - It was Harry's destiny and Dumbledore had a part in it that he had to prepare him, Harry for the until confrontation and so he did!

It might appear rather ruthless, but knowing the truth, all he could do , was prepare Harry for it.

If Snape hadnt lost his life in the hands of Voldemort, would he have ever let Voldy know that he was Dumby's Man , even before the final confrontation?
