Mumbai: STAR PLUS, the No. 1 Hindi General Entertainment Channel, is all set to launch its new show, 'Hamari Devrani' from May 26th, Mon-Fri, 1.30 p.m. in the weekday matinee band. After the success of 'Shagun', Star Plus and Shobhana Desai Pvt.Ltd yet again aim at making your drowsy afternoons exciting with Hamari Devrani.

Shobhana Desai Pvt. Ltd. is a renowned production house and has been producing various shows for all channels since 1995. After successfully producing show like 'Shagun', Shobhana Desai is very excited to be back on Star Plus with 'Hamari Devrani'.

'Hamari Devrani' is a family drama about the Nanavati Parivaar, based in Ahmedabad. It strongly establishes the sweet yet, at times, sour relationship between the five elder bahu's of the family and their youngest devrani. This is the story which unveils the various facets of relationships in a family. The show highlights the criticalities of various relations within the family like devrani-jethani, relations with in-laws and above all the relation between husband and wife.

The show is an emotional saga of the protagonist Bhakti (played by Krishna), who is a simple and small town girl. Bhakti's faith and devotion in life is her biggest strength in life. She is brought up by Kashi Ben - her grandmother. Her grandmother is her life and she believes that Bal Gopal to be her friend & family. Bhakti is a simple yet very strong character who never gives up before adversities that she faces in life. Her faith and love always shows her the right path to success.

Looked upon as an unlucky girl, Bhakti is a complete loner. Circumstances bring her to Ahmedabad where she gets married to a family that consists of six brothers. Only to realize that the road she has chosen and the family she has chosen as her marital home, both have something else in store for her. Time and again she falls back on her faith in Bal Gopal for right guidance. This show is indeed a mixture of the various flavors of life.


With an interesting line of cast, the show promises to bring forward the nuances and intricacies of relationships between the elder and younger bahus of the family. his story is just not a family drama, but a mirror image of middleclass Indian household.

Krishna Gokhani: Hard work pays off
Krishna Gokhani has gained immense fame through her show Hamari Devrani and is now known by her character's name 'Bhakti'. Her hard work and efforts have paid off as she has been nominated in six categories for the Star Parivaar Awards.
The actress admits to feeling great and extremely thankful, saying, "I feel on top of the world but I've to hold back and remind myself that theses are just nominations. I am very happy and very thankful to my entire family and the entire team who has helped me and got me here. Most of all, I want to thank God." Talking about her strengths, she says, "My family and God are my only strengths. Had my family's support not been there, I would have never been able to make it so far." The six categories that Krishna has been nominated in are: Favourite Bahu, Favourite Patni, Favourite Devrani, Favourite Naya Sadasya Female, Favourite Jodi and Favourite Yaadgaar Pal. She feels that her chances of winning the Favourite Devrani award are the highest as in the other categories, the competition is extremely tough. She says, "I just think that if I do win, I'll get the Devrani award as it goes well with the name of the show." Krishna will also be seen performing two acts at the ceremony. She says, "I have two performances. One is the opening act and the second is the Raas Leela act but the songs have not been decided on till now. We will start rehearsing from tomorrow."

Madhav Deochake: Three nominations
Madhav Deochake, who plays Mohan in Hamari Devrani, has been nominated in several categories for the Star Parivaar Awards (Favourite Beta, Favourite Jodi and Favourite Lamha) and the actor is over the moon with the recognition. We caught up with him as he shared his feelings about the awards with as well as his nominations with Krishna Gokani, who plays his onscreen wife Bhakti, for Favourite Jodi and Favourite Lamha.
About nomination he says, "It is a nice feeling and I am happy about it. Krishna and I have been nominated in various categories and I just hope that we win. People like our chemistry. When I go out, people ask me about Bhakti and when she goes out, people ask her about me. In fact, they tell us that we would look good together in real life too but we have different commitments." The actor adds that it is his and Krishna's chemistry that has helped them get the nomination, saying, "We are very good friends. We fight on the sets but we make up very quickly. It's a nice relationship." Talking about the competition, Madhav says that it will be tough, adding, "All the couples in the category are popular. It all depends on votes, the channel and our luck. If we win, it will be great. We'd consider ourselves lucky." The actor is no stranger to awards and says, "I have won awards for regional shows as I have starred in 4 Marathi serials. I think awards are a very good way to show appreciation for our hard work." Madhav and Krishna will be performing together at the awards show. He says, "We are rehearsing for 2-3 hours a day but we have a very tight schedule so we can't devote a lot of time to practice. Let's see how it goes. We will perform to the title song of the film Kisna."
