Nature/Propensity

kuch nahi hai toh gam hai,

When you have nothing, there is sorrow

mil gaya toh shikayat hai..

Once you find something, there is grievance
paane ki jaddojahad hai,
There is struggle to attain

paake aur paane ki hasrat hai..
On attaining, there is desire to attain more
har neend ek naya sapna hai,

Every repose comes with a new dream
har sapna adhura hai..

Each dream is an incomplete one
har aankh ek aas hai,

Every eye has hope
har aankh ek aansu hai..

And every eye has tears
har dua mein barkat hai,

Each prayer is a blessing
har dil ek nayi hasrat hai..

Each heart has a new yearning

paan aur paana,

Coveting and attaining
bas yahi insaani fitrat hai.

Such is human nature.
