After school was over:
"Arpitha!Arpitha" I looked behind me, the guy with black eyes ran to me.
"Yes Ranvijay?" He panted.
"Arpitha...I like you a lot. I know-"
"Ran-"
"That you like me a lot too. We don't have-"
"Ran-"
"To hide our feelings from each other anymore."
"I don't love you." He stopped.
"What?"
"I'm sorry Ranvijay...I like someone else." He paused for a moment. He laughed.
"That-that was just a joke. I wanted to see how you would act." He said quickly, he then ran off. "Bye!" I waved back at him.
"I guess he was just kidding." I walked forward, I pulled out the chocolate bar. My eyes lowered. "I wish I can give it to him though." I said. I turned the corner and hit somebody.
"Oof!" I fell down on the ground.
"Watch where you're go-" I recognized that voice. I looked up and saw Avdhesh, his eyes wide. "You all right?" He asked, his eyes weren't cold as before.
They showed...concern?
"I'm fine." He offered his hand, I let myself be pulled up by him.
Our hands were still touching, he withdrew his hand quickly.
I lowered my hand, I liked the way his hand was in mine.
My hand felt cold.
"Hello." I said. I tucked the strand of hair behind my ear.
"Hello." He said quietly. He put his hands in his pockets, and started to walk away.
I followed him.
He didn't seem to notice.
"Yes?" He asked. Still walking.
"Um...I." 'Great, I had to follow him.'
"Why are you following me?" He asked.
"I was...um...why didn't you come to college today?" He stopped, his back still facing me.
"I didn't feel like going." He said nonchantly.
"Why?"
"Why do you want to know?"
"Uh..well-I was...nnnn." 'I sound like an idiot!'
"It's because it was Valentine's day." He said.
"You don't like it?"
"The girls get annoying, so I just left."
"Oh...okay." He kept walking, my feet followed him unconsciously.
"Why are you still following me?" I stopped.
"Oh I'm sorry. I didn't mean to-"
"You don't have to say sorry." He kept walking, I don't know why.
But I kept following him.
He didn't ask me anything.
"Um, Avdhesh." I said, he stopped and looked at me. 'Oh no! I called him by his name!' "I'm sorry, I can't call you that-"
"It's alright...I don't mind you calling me that." He muttered.
"Oh, okay. I know you don't like girls doing this but-" I was about to pull out the chocolate when the wooden fence that I was leaning on broke. I was about to fall into the river when he pulled me. I was under him, his face looked up straight into my eyes.
His eyes are different, his color were softer, a nice shade of brown...i fell in love with this color..... He coughed and got up, I got up and brushed away the dirt from my shirt.
"Thank you." I said, he nodded.
"What were you saying?" He asked, I blushed.
"Um, here." I handed him the chocolate, my arms far out and my head staring at the ground. "You don't have to take it. If you don't like choco-" I felt the bar leave my hand. I looked up and saw him stare at it. He opened it, and broke piece off, tossed it into his mouth.
"You don't have to eat it if you don't like it." I said.
"I like chocolate." He said, popped another piece into his mouth. "And yours taste good." I blushed.
"I'm glad you like it." I said. I noticed he was looking at me intently, as if thinking of something.
"I was hoping to give it to you earlier today. But since you didn't come...I..."
"Why do you want to give it to me?" His eyes with curiosty.
"I-I want to give it to-to you. Because I-I." 'What do I want to say?'
"Arpitha." My heart pounded so hard, I never heard him say my name before.
His deep voice was so heavenly to my ears.
"Yes?" I asked.
"I'm sorry."
"Wha-" I was interrupted by his firm, warm lips.
I was surprised.
I was shocked.
I didn't stop him though.
I didn't push him away.
Instead my arms went around his neck.
His arms around my waist, I feel so much safer in his arms.
His kiss was soft, gentle.
It soon turned more passionate.
I ran my fingers through his hair.
I never would've thought this would happen.
He pulled away, I panted lightly. He looked at me, his eyes a different shade.
"You are the reason for everything."
What?
"The reason I go to the first class is because you're there. I didn't see the point of going when you weren't in my other classes."
He's?
"Then when Chulbul started that rumor, I wasn't even sure if I should come."
Chulbul?
"I didn't come today...I didn't want to see you to confess to some guy..."
Confess?
"You are different from the other girls, something about you attracted me."
Attracted?
"I need to tell you today, even though you don't feel the same way."
Same way?
"There's no else in my heart besides you."
"I love you Arpitha."
Time has stopped.
My heart is pounding.
Did he just say?
I love you.
Those words are repeating themselves over and over in my head.
I never thought he would...
How did the guy I love...love me back?
"I had to tell you." He muttered ruffling his hair, he started to walk away from me.
"Wait!" I screamed. He stopped and turned to me. I walk closer to him, staring straight into his eyes.
"You didn't give me a chance to tell you..."
"I don't need to know what guy stole your heart." He said.
"Even if its you." I said, he stopped and looked at me.
"Me?" He asked. I nodded.
"I love you too Avdhesh." I said, he placed his hands around my shoulders and pulled me in.
"Are you sure?" I raised my eyebrow at me.
"You don't think I-"
"It's not that. I just never expected that." His head rested on my shoulder.
"So does that mean we're..." I blushed as he looked up at me. He smiled.
This is the first time I see him smile.
I love it.
"You get nervous easy don't you." He said, his hand on one of my shoulders, his forhead touching mine.
"I-I was just asking if we-" He nodded. I smiled back at him.
The next day we both walk together to school.
Imagine the school.
For the first time watching him smile.
I told my friends we were dating.
It spread to the whole school.
I still don't know why the guys were crying.
And what was even rarer.
