Part 11

Arpitha cried silently with tears rolling down her cheeks…Awdesh noticed her cry…

Awdesh—"Arpitha…Please don't cry…We'll be safe soon…as long as I am with you, you need not to worry"

Arpitha—"true...i have no reason to worry…who would dare go against a gangster? A murderer"

Awdesh looks at her completely shocked and confused…before he could answer her, the vehicle stops…Awdesh tries to identify the problem…he tries restarting but the vehicle doesn't…

Awdesh (hitting the dashboard)—"damn…The fuel is over…"

Awdesh gets down…The road was abandoned and could see only trees and forest before him…hefinds a milestone at some distance reading…

Lallanpur

34 Km

Awdesh doesn't understand where he is…He headed towards the haweli, but where is he now…guessing that he might have taken a wrong turn at some point awdesh opens the backdoor, checking for some reserve…not finding any he returns to the driver's seat and finds that Arpitha is no more in the vehicle…He looks around and there is no trace of her…He runs some distance and tracks arpitha's footsteps going into the forest…He follows them and finally locates her struggling with her dupatta stuck in the bark of a tree…

Awdesh—"Arpitha…stop…where are you going…wait…"

Seeing awdesh, Arpitha leaves her dupatta and continues running…Awdesh increases his speed and gets hold of her…

Awdesh—"Arpitha (loud)…what's wrong with you…have you gone crazy…you are running into the forest like mad…"

Arpitha—"leave me…It was my mistake…I trusted you…leave me on my fate…"

Awdesh (confused)—"Arpitha…but…what did I do…that I broke your trust…"

Arpitha—"don't you know…ask your blood stained hands…they will tell you…I knew you were a gangster…but thought (softens) you care for me… you do the right thing in the wrong way…You brake law but for a good reason…but… (Loud) but I was wrong… "

Awdesh stood stunned…

Arpitha (sobbing)—"I was wrong…I was completely wrong…"

Awdesh (leaving her hand)—"Arpitha…I still care for you…i…"

Arpitha (with Greif)—"no…you don't…you just want money…I am nothing but a prisoner…my freedom is bargained by you with my dad…you are a murderer… I hate you…"

Arpitha turns around and tries to run again…

Awdesh holds her in a blink and drags her close to him…awdesh looks deep down into her eyes…Her words caused him great pain…They pierced his heart…

Awdesh (frustrated and angry)—"yes I am a gangster…yes I did kidnap you…but not for money…just for your safety…"

Arpitha (fear in her eyes and hatred in her voice)—"what safety…from whom you wanted to protect me from…in fact you are a threat to me…"

Awdesh leaves her and softens…

Awdesh (disheartened)—"Arpitha…I am your threat????… i…i…always wanted your well being…I can kill anyone who would try to harm you…Pappu thought I loved you and wanted to disgrace you for that reason…and…and…I was left with no choice…"

Arpitha blinded with suspicion didn't try to see the truth in his words…

Arpitha—"no…your just making up some story…you are lying…"

Awdesh comes closer to her and looks straight into her eyes…

Awdesh (with pain)—"look deep down into my eyes Arpitha…do you still feel I am lying…don't you see something for you in them…isn't there something that belongs to you…"

Arpitha softens a bit and looks deeper into his eyes…Awdesh holds her hand and places it on his chest…

Awdesh—"listen to my heart beat Arpitha…it always shouts just one name…cares for one special person…always pumps for just one person…and that's you"

Arpitha forgets all her agony and continues looking into his eyes…Awdesh places his other hand on her cheek and wipes out a tear rolling down her cheek with his thumb…

Awdesh(softens)—"your tears tear me down Arpitha…your worry makes me restless…and to drive out your worry I can go to any extent…your happiness makes me feel the happiest person on earth…your smile is a bliss to me…"

Arpitha (whispers)—"why…"

Awdesh (slow and silent)—"Because, I LOVE you…"

Arpitha closed her eyes in happiness…Tears escaped from her eyes…Awdesh watched her…Arpitha opened her love filled eyes with tears of joy…Awdesh nodded his head in a no and wiped away her tears…Arpitha hugged him tight and cried out in happiness…Awdesh held her tight in his arms and closed his eyes…He held her as if, she would be stolen from her, if left her free…Arpitha found solace in his arms…Why wouldn't she?…She loved him and being loved by the person whom you love is a gift…a lifetime gift…And his love is eternal…

Awdesh broke the hug and plants a kiss on her forehead…

Awdesh—"I never wanted to put you in the dark Arpitha…i would have told you the truth earlier but… I feared…i…"

Before he could continue, Arpitha places her finger on his lips…

Arpitha (crying)—"awdesh ji…I am sorry…I have hurted you so much with my words…I am really sorry…"

Awdesh hugs her again trying to calm her down and they ignore time…Breaking the hug, Awdesh holds her hand…

Awdesh—"let's go…its getting dark…if night falls, we can get lost…"

Awdesh leads her while Arpitha follows him…They reach the tree where arpitha's dupatta is stuck…Awdesh leaves her hand and manages to remove the dupatta from the tree bark…He hands it to her…Arpitha takes it and gets lost in his eyes once again…Awdesh smiles at her and holds her hand…They walk further trying to find their way back to their vehicle…

The sun started yawning…

Sun(frustrated)—"I have no rest…I set here and have to go wake up the other side of the world…hey…you…mr.Moon…come out quick…I am leaving…"

Moon (sleepy)—"ya (drags)…….coming…"

Listening to their conversation the birds flew back to their nests to rest…Arpitha and awdesh have been walking for quite long…

Arpitha—"Awdesh ji... Aren't we there yet…I can walk no more…"

Awdesh—"then start running…"

Arpitha (surprised)—"what…"

Awdesh (smiling)—"I am tired too…you go and find the way…I'll rest here"

Awdesh goes near a tree and sits down…

Arpitha—"stop joking awdesh ji…its already dark…how will we reach outside this forest…"

Awdesh (on a teasing note)—"you are asking me…Didn't you think of it when you ran like mad…"

Arpitha—"it was all your fault…oh god…don't tell me… we are LOST…right"

Awdesh smiles and nodded his head in a yes…Arpitha sits down next to him in worry…Awdesh holds her around her arms and tries to comfort her…

Awdesh—"don't worry…with me around, nothing can harm you…"

Arpitha's worried expression is replaced with trust and love…she hugs him with her head resting on her chest…his heart beat tapped her to sleep…soon awdesh also fell asleep with Arpitha enveloped in his hands…

The crickets sounded loud…the moon watched in boredom…Everyone was fast asleep…the trees…the birds…the insects…every creature of the forest were taking rest after a tiresome day…wind gently blew in all directions…

Moon(pleasing)—"Hai windy…yaar I am really bored…everyone is fast asleep and I have no one to watch me…yaar please blow harder…and bring in some clouds…I want to hide behind them and have a nap…"

The wind was very kind enough…he blew harder on Mr. Moon's request and brought some white clouds to cover him…this act of his sent a shiver across Arpitha's spine and she woke up feeling the chilled atmosphere…Arpitha sensed that Awdesh was also shivering due to the cold breeze…

Arpitha pulled out her dupatta and spread it, allowing it to cover them and rested back in his arms…
