yeah we were speculating earlier on that the cop will find out who Arpi is and then try to use her against Avdesh, to reform him....

As you said the cop was only saying what Arpi too has been saying, in her own way....and that is partly why Avdesh reacted in her anger to her words...also a bit of foreshadowing, that she is his one and only weakness....we all know that he gets angry with her but he never ever stops loving her...at the first sign of danger to her, he will go beserk....
