@ Jzee, I soo agree with you.. when SP lowes something bad enough, they can't get enough of it... SP was running in my house for an hour today, and I could hear the "unbeatable wierd crazy " song "Chamak challo...""" like every 15 min... I was like ..😲 why???

@ Piu... yar, all the soaps are almost a clone of another one on another channel... I can't even remem the character names, despite trying real hard to try and get hooked on to anything running on TV... I will have to resort to watching Pride n Prejudice (BBC vintage) for like the 15th time, for lack of anything decent on telly... on my free day..

Minks.😛.I have become such a Big Dabloo when I tried to watch some of the other shows after Gulaal ended.😆.and believe me that I ended up hating TV soaps more than ever before.OMG look what Gulaal has done to me.i just don't feel like watching TV any more😭.I seriously hate SP.At least they could have shifted Gulaal to an afternoon slot. The story had so much potential. And Yes I totally agree with you and Jzee about Sp and its craziness when it comes to its personal favs.🤣

^^ Minks - if you haven't, try the BBC adaptation of Emma - it is fantastic! I rate it over PnP, especially if you've read the book.

@ show clones - its like they hit gold with a hit formula that lasts a few years and everything in that time is made on that prototype. Then, some years pass, audience finally begins to stir to the idea of cliche - so the show makers come up with a brand new *yes that implies cliche* plot, it hits the screens and public and then every one is churning out versions of that!

@chamak challo - so someone else agrees its oh-so-weird?! I have no idea what SRK was fawning about for so so long! He's been anything but modest about Ra.One from day 1 - and I just keep wondering why everytime a new teaser from the movie is released. Plus Kareena Kapoor = GAG. (no offense if anyone likes her...!) The only thing I'm in awe about, with regard to her - is how she manages to be in all the big Khan projects!

I LOVEEE Emma (BBC one with Johnny Lee Miller 😍)... despite it being not one of my fav classics, I absolutely loved it... yeah, but have to lean it towards P&P, just coz its one of my all time fav books... cliche story ☺️ almost all the girls I know who read classics, love P&P... Jzee, if you don't, you would be the first female I know of, who doesnt ...😈

@ chamak challo, the song is peppy enough... but I can't stand K first of all (she is hopeless 😃 ).. and what the hell is she doing in it??? I don't have anything againt item songs / dances... I admit to loving Sheila... but this chamak challo is ttooo wierd for my liking... and well, I shall not even start on SRK... I used to like this guy in DDLJ, and Swades... and he is doing this crap??? Bollywood man...

Arre how does liking Emma translate to not liking PnP?! 😲 My preference for Emma, or even Sense and Sensibility (the book) might be alot more on account of how ... how do we say that ... how overly chewed up PnP is among Austen fans! I just tend to get a little wary of how many discussions end up with or in Darcy/Lizzy talks - so its my twisted way of rendering justice to the 'less swooned' over Austen stories 😆

On a serious note - I think my favorite books are Persuasion and Sense and Sensibility ... but PnP from BBC is exclusive stuff! And Darcy really has been the 'grumpy and cold' oh so sexily knightly hero-face of decades, who can deny! ☺️

Tired soul... me... too tired to try and dissect the oh-so-angsty Kesar Gulaal meet, but cannot shy away from talking abt PnP.😳

This book has me in total hold, and I am not even ashamed to admit that yes, like the cliches we talked about, I am one of the mad, phangirls of PnP.. despite appreciating the beauty of SnS (cant remember the story of Persuasion, choorry, have read it though, like a true loyal Austen phan ☺️), and loved the movie adaptation too... I guess there is something abt PnP which holds mad phangirls like me so besotted , very apt like a young man, of good fortune must be in need of a wife... like its just an eternal truth...

I know its been over-dissected and discussed too many times... and yes have seen too many aspirants wanting to be oh-so-wonderful Lizzy, or the dreams of having found oneself their very own Mr. Darcy...

Actually, to come to think of it, our Hindi Tellydom does copy from PnP in a lot of ways... doesnt the heroes in all the clone-versions remind you a bit of Darcy??? 😎

Sorry, Jzee for having completely high-jacked your thread now... hoping that you would ban me away...

Btw, Colin Firth as Darcy, totally drool-worthy ... 😍, yes, I DO want to meet a person not liking PnP, for the very reason that they may be able to help me get rid of this obsession... crazy much???

Hi ! Nice post ! Yet to read the discussions

Just came in to say that I like the way these two yield to the puja's like husband and wife ...somewhere the sanctity of the occasion and the reality (all said and done) of their DV comes to the fore and gives them an excuse to forget their hesitations and
and deep down , they like to give in and become one for that time ,unconsciously,
for whatever duration - till, ofcourse, other emotions take over and disrupt..

@ Jzee , loved the way you put it - "when Pandit asks Talli if she is the wife, where Kesar looks, no not offended exactly, but definitely has a flickering of the what are you saying expression in his eyes. "

Never for a moment does Kesar think of giving Gulaal's place to anyone else , though this is unconscious now and will bloom out to consciousness later when he is almost "giving away" that place to Tally through marriage...thank God for the timely realisation - and as you said elsewhere , it was so typical of Kesar to have NOT completed the pheras with Talli..
scene 2.: How beautifully you have put it and how cleverly and subtly
the CV's have shown the difference between Paan ba and Gulaal at Kesar"s bedside ,,"And to me also, this is not an image of Gulaal the elder shedding tears over the pain of Kesar the ward - no! In fact, that it is not like that becomes evident from the way it stands in difference from the PB-Kesar bit the precedes it (the reason why I included it in the clip hence) and I like how that distinction stands out! When PB is caressing Kesar, and when Gulaal holds onto his hands and her tears fall to it - and even Kesar's reactions to both the touches - the difference is so obvious! Gulaal is the wife. PB is the mother."👏👏

@Maz, I think that's because a) by now Kesar is well aware of how silly Talli can be and he doesnt put anything past her...and more important , b) he is least bothered about what she does , he is always sooo engrossed in Gulaal and Gulaal alone !😊
