Hi , I have to jump in here as I am eager to share that a) I too did not get gripped by the GV story and almost stopped watching it (I find watching GV now in shrushti's thread more interesting because now I have seen the later phase) and b) Regarding reaction to DV the first time around , I too read an article about it and was so put apaaled at the idea that I totally stopped watching it...(how was I to know this show would be unlike anyother show on indian telly and would develop the concept so well).it was only much later when Kesar re-entered as Neil did I start watching slowly again..

@Maz, I think that's because a) by now Kesar is well aware of how silly Talli can be and he doesnt put anything past her...and more important , b) he is least bothered about what she does , he is always sooo engrossed in Gulaal and Gulaal alone !😊

Word VJ - basically, right upto the point of odhni confrontation between GK, Kesar has no realization of Talli and her silly antics - especially not of their underlying 'lowe'. As I said to Maz in today's thread over another matter, Kesar treats Talli not as this grown up girl in her marriageable age, but as chum of his back from the childhood. He treats her like he did a decade ago - in an almost similar ostrich manner, as Gulaal treats Kesar like the boy of 12 for a while! It takes the entire wedding fiasco for Kesar to become officially aware and respecting of the fact, that Talli too, like him, has grown up in this decade... The entire missing sense of her having grown up makes him treat her like that - like the best friend he could mess around with the most, without giving one heck to her being girl, forget girl with lowe feelings for him! His shock in the odhni confrontation, when Gulaal tells him she loves him - is SO stark! Its (in a sense) quite like Gulaal's shock at Kesar's confession, although Gulaal saw signs of Kesar's attraction far more than Kesar ever realized anything on Talli's end!

ps: I know you're a little behind on catching up atm - but its awfully nice of you to actually read through all the threads and comment/chip in ! 🤗
