The next three days went in a very sad atmosphere, Paan ba had stopped talking to gulaal n gulaal was really feeling very bad for this, she was trying every possible way in which she can clear the differences between her n PB but was failing in her attempts. Sudha n Raman were also informed about this, n shockingly, the people living near their house had also come to know about this truth, everybody in the house was surprised but they really vr not able to figure it out that who was the person to leak out this news. But the fact was that now everybody knew that gulaal was the bahu of the family. MB, Saru fui were behaving finely with her but still the atmosphere was not a happy one. Every one had become affected by the revelations of these shocking truths that everyone was doing there work silently. Rewa was still in support for gulaal while kesar was very uneasy, he was trying every possible way to not to meet gulaal's eyes n was keeping himself away from her. He had to go to the market to bring some goods for the function which was very near now, Gulaal called him from behind:
"Kesar !! Kahan jaa raha hai?"
K: "Kuch cheezen laani hen bazaar se, tujhe kuch chahiye??"
G: "Haan !!" she came beside him.
K: "Kya?" he looked at her face n then after 2 seconds, started looking outside the door.
G: "Teri muskurahat kesar, teri khushi"
Kesar was shocked at the response, he kept staring her face.
G: "Haan kesar, meri wajah se tu itna dukh jhel raha hai, pehle bhi kabhi main tujhe koi khushi nahi de paayi aur ab bhi dekh meri hi wajah se jo tere chehre ki muskaan thi wo bhi chali gayi, i m sorry kesar, dekh tu mujhe saza de le per khud ko kyun dukh de raha hai, mujh pe nikaal de apna ghusa per aisay khud ko kyun jala raha hai tu?"
K: "Nahi gulaal teri koi ghalti..."
G: "Bas kar !! main jaanti hun sab meri kundli k dosh se hi hua hai, pata hai mujhe k main hi is sab ki wajah hun, kaash mujhe yeh sab pehlay pata hota, main kabhi vasant ki jindagi men ati hi nahi, hamesha us se door hi rehti... main.."
Rewa: "Nahi bhabhi, aisa nahi hai" She had come near the door now, "ap dono kyun khud ko dosh diye ja rahay hain? ghalti ap dono men se kisi ki nahi hai, dekhiye yeh kundli k dosh vosh kuch nahi hote, yeh sab toh kismat ka khel hai, hum sab ki kismat men vasant bha ka door jana likha tha aur woh hogaya, kesar... tu bhi is baat ko samajh le k vasant bha teri wajah se nahi gaye, yeh aik ittefaq tha k tu us waqt gari men tha, agar tu nahi hota aur vasant bha agar gari na chala rahay hotay toh bhi un ka waqt aa chuka tha, agar aisay nahi toh kisi aur tarah, per janaa toh un ko tha na, plz ap dono is baat ko samajhne ki koshish karye"
Gulaal n Kesar were listening to rewa silently, kesar looking outside the door n gulaal staring her feet on the ground, when rewa completed her sentence, kesar left for the market n gulaal kept staring outside the door, her gaze was following kesar's footsteps...
Finally the day for the function had arrived. Paan ba had announced that if gulaal will be taking part in any of the work then she vl not attend the funtion so gulaal was staying in her room now, It was noon n guests had started to arrive. PB, MB, Saru fui all were welcoming the guests n rewa n kanchan were taking care of them, devika was sitting in the middle of the fully decorated tv lounge, she was wearing a beautiful lehenga dress with a beautiful chunri on her head, special separate arrangement was made in the drawing room for the male guests, kesar n kamlesh were attending them, during all this, MB realized that Gulaal has still not come downstairs, she asked rewa to bring her down, rewa went to gulaal's room,
R: "Bhabhi ?? Ap tayar kyun nahi hen? neeche nearly sab hi guests aagaye hen, jaldi ajayiye"
G: "Rewa, woh main soch rahi thi k yaheen rahoon, woh... tu janti hai na agar main ayi toh paan ba ka mood kharab ho jayega, main yaheen theek hun"
MB: "Nahi beta !"
Gulaal stood up on seeing MB there.
G: "MB aap?"
MB: "Han beta, dekh main jaanta hun tujhe dukh horaha hai paan ba k aise bartaav pe, per tu phikar mat kar, woh maa hai na, use bohot hi dhaka laga hai sab sach sun kar, ahista ahista waqt k saath sab theek ho jayega, chal tu neeche aa"
G: "Per Mb..."
MB: "Beta tu meri baat bhi nahi maanegi? mujh pe bharosa rakh meri bachi, main tere saath kabhi kuch ghalat nahi hone dunga, kabhi nahi, mera yeh haath tere ser pe hai beta"
Teard started flowing from gulaal's eyes, how could she now disagree with MB, so she agreed:
"Theek hai MB, main aati hun" Rewa n MB became happy n left the room so that she can get ready.
Gulaal started thinking about the past events n now MB's words also, she was looking at herself in the mirror "Pata nahi ab meri kismat men aur kya likha hai" n she started getting ready for the function.

Gulaal reached downstairs. Paan ba saw her coming n made an angry face n got busy with the guests. Rewa went to her n took her to introduce to all guests as MB had told her to do. After the introduction gulaal noticed that everybody was talking to each other n were continuously looking at her, people were smiling while looking at her n gulaal felt very awkward. She quietly went to a corner of the room n stood there, while paan ba announced:
"Ayiye ap sab qareeb ajayiye, hum ab rasam shuru karte hen"
One lady said: "Paan ba pehle toh saru fui aur aap hi rasam karen gi, akhir ap ki bahu ki gaud bharai hai"
PB: "Haan haan bilkul, ayiye saru bhen, ap rasam ki shuruvaad karen"
Saru fui moved forward n did the rasam, she gave devika lots of gifts, a gold set, some fruits. Then paan ba came n did the rasam, then rewa n kanchan did the rasam. PB addressed the gathering: "Lijiye sab ghar walon ne toh rasam karli, ab ap log bhi ajayiye"
Rewa: "Per ba, abhi gulaal bhabhi..."
PB: "Rewa ja beta ja k khanay ka intejaam dekh k aa, rasam k thori dair baad hum khana khayen ge, phir tum larkiyan mil k jo bhi karna hai woh kar lena, hum baray toh beth k dekhen ge, aur apni baaten bhi karlen ge"
Rewa: "Lekin..."
PB: "Ja rewa" she looked at rewa angrily. Rewa quietly moved towards the kitchen with a disappointed face.
Kesar passed by as he was busy in taking care of the guests n doing all the work, he saw gulaal standing in a corner n then all this happening, he came forward n reached to her, Gulaal was surprised to see him there: "Kesar ??! Tu yahan kya kar raha hai? aray yeh ladies function hai is men tera kya kaam hai, bahar jaa warna aurten bohot majak banayen gen tera, jaa"
K: "Han jaata hun, lekin pehle jo ghalat ho raha hai use sahi toh kar dun, chal" he hold her hand n dragged her forward...
G: "Kesar, kesar !! pagal hogaya hai kya, chor mera haath, yeh kya kar raha hai, kesaarrr..."
Kesar reached to the middle of the room where devika was sitting, all the people were now looking at gulaal n kesar n specially the way kesar was holding her hand n gulaal was trying to free her hand from his grip. There was silence in the room now.
K: "Chal gulaal, rasam kar"
Gulaal was shocked to hear these words from kesar's mouth...
K: "Tu ne suna nahi maine kya kaha? rasam kar"
G: "Tera dimagh toh theek hai kesar, yeh kya bakwaas kar raha hai" n she moved forward to go away from there, kesar grabbed her hand n pulled her back,
K: "Tu rasam kiye bina kahin nahi jayegi gulaal, rasam kar"
G: "Sab dekh rahe hen kesar, tamasha mat bana, mera haath chor aur jane de mujhe, main rasam nahi kar sakti"
K: "Kyun nahi kar sakti rasam? kyun k paan ba ne tujhe mana kiya hai? in stupid society k rules ki wajah se? what nonsense gulaal, main yeh sab nahi maanta, tujhe rasam karni hi hogi, tu ne mujh se pucha tha k main khud ko kyun jala raha hun, ab tu bata, tu kya kar rahi hai? tu konse phool barsa rahi hai khud pe? main toh sirf apni khushi jala raha tha na, tu toh apni poori zindagi jala rahi hai, tujhe andaza bhi hai tu kya kar rahi hai?"
Gulaal slowly said so that people r not able to hear them talk: "Chup ho ja kesar, teri samajh men kyun nahi aata, aik widwa yeh rasam nahi kar sakti, yeh theek nahi hai"
Kesar's voice became more loud "Kya theek nahi hai Gulaal !!!" he turned towards everybody in the room n started saying loudly "Aap log, aap log sab isi samaaj ka hissa hen na, main ap sab se puchta hun, yeh kyun ghalat hai k aik widwa yeh rasam na karay is se door rahay? kyun k ghar k baray ne kaha hai k gulaal is sab se door rahay toh usay door rehna chahiye, per aakhir kyun? yeh rasam sab aik dusray ki khushiyon k liye banayi gayi hen na, toh phir is se aik insaan ko dukh kyun puhanchaya ja raha hai?"
PB had left the room for some work n now she had just arrived: "Kesar !!! yeh sab kya tamasha hai !! gulaal yeh rasam nahi karegi"
K: "Kyun ba ? kya woh is ghar ki bahu nahi?"
PB: "Per suhaagan toh nahi hai na woh"
K: "Aray baa aakhir ap logon ko problem kya hai" he hold his head in his both hands "Suhaagan widwaa suhaagan widwaa, tang agaya hun main yeh sun sun kar, jab dekho tab yehi baatein, itni partialities, itni biasness, suhaagan insaan hai toh kya widwaa koi jaanwar hai? these r the pathetic issues n rules of the society, insaan ho k dusre insaan k saath janwar se bhi bura salook karo aur phir chaho k sab acha acha ho, how is this possible baa, hadh hoti hai har cheez ki"
PB: "Han kesar hadh hoti hai ! jese tu ab apni hadh paar kar raha hai chup hoja aur chala ja yahan se, aurton ki baaton men tu mat bol, ja yahan se !!"
K: "Kya aurton ki baat paan ba? yahan baat aurat ki nahi insaan ki hai, gulaal hum jesi hi insaan hai aur us se insaano jesa vehvaar hona chahiye"
SF: "Kesar, shaant ho ja beta, dekh tu jo keh raha hai woh hum maantay hen per hum is samaaj se alag nahi ho saktay, dekh beta maine bhi toh apni jindagi guzaar hi di na, tu jo keh raha hai sab sahi hai beta per jis samaaj men hamen rehna hai us k liye hamen bohot saray tayaag karne hi hotay hen, yehi aik aurat ki kismat hai"
K: "Saru fui kismat badli bhi toh ja sakti hai na, kisi k saath bura hua toh us ki kismat pe dosh daal k sab bhool k beth jao, yeh kahan likha hai fui? kisi k saath bura ho toh use sahara dena chahiye, us ka saath dena chahiye, na k usay aur dukh dena chahiye"
One lady: "Beta yeh sab baaten kehna bohot asaan hai lekin samaaj se larna bohot hi mushkil hai"
K: "Theek hai !!! samaaj itna hi zaroori hai na ap sab k liye, toh gulaal ki dusri shadi karwa dijiye, hone dijiye usay khush, ane dijiye us ki zindagi men khushiyan"
Gulaal was shocked, she was not able to speak even after hearing what kesar had just said. Everybody in the room was silent.
SF: "Kesar hamen kisi se us ki khushi cheennay ka shoq nahi hai, lekin aik widwaa se shadi kon karta hai?"
Other lady: "Han kehne ko to sab bohot kuch kehtay hen, per karne agay kon barhta hai? ab dekho na widwaaon k baray men teri hi tarah bohot logon ne bohot kuch kaha hai per kitnay log un ka haath thaamnay agay barhay? baatein sab karte hen beta lekin ibhaata koi nahi, chal sab ko chor de, tu jo yeh sab keh raha hai, tu bata, tu thamaay ga is ka haath?"
Everybody in the room was shocked, gulaal as well, she had never thought that the situation vl take such turn. Kesar was so surprised to hear this, he had never ever thought this way before, yes she wanted gulaal's happiness but he had no answer to the woman's question.
"Nahi hai na jawab tere paas, dekh le, baat ko samajh beta, tu in reet rivaaj ko nahi badal sakta, koi nahi badal sakta"
PB: "Bohot tamasha ho gaya hai yahan, bas hogaya, main aap sab se maafi maangti hun is sab k liye, kesar tu ja yahan se, gulaal dekh le tere yahaan ane se kya hua, isi liye main ne tujhe mana kiya tha yahaan ane se, teri wajah se hamesha is ghar ki khushi ko nazar hi lagi hai, is samaaj se hat k na kabhi hum rahay aur na rahen ge, koi is k reet rivaaj nahi badal sakta aur na hum badalna chahtay hen, ja yahan se !!!"
Gulaal stepped forward to go n kesar hold his hand n stopped her, "Nahi ba, is samaaj ki reet badle gi, zaroor badle gi, main badlun ga isay" n with that he extended his hand forward towards the thaal of arti n took a pinch of sindoor from there n filled gulaal's forehead with it.
There was pin drop silence in the room, every person present there was speechless, rewa, devika, kanchan, saru fui n even paan ba. Gulaal had lost the ability of thinking for a few seconds, she was extremely shocked.
Kesar turned around towards everyone n said: "Badal gayi reet paan ba, aj yeh widwaa aik suhagan ho chuki hai, aur yeh sab ap k saamne hua hai, gulaal aj se balkay abhi se, meri patni hai, kesar ki patni hai !!! "
With that gulaal came back to her senses n her hand came forward n turned kesar towards her with full force n the next second, she had slapped him !!!
