I'm excited for the GK scene tomorrow...the shot of the day today for me has to be them sitting on the ground together at night...haunting, gives you goosebumps.

Very true Nur!! I was thinking that the last fb Gul had was of Kes asking her why she insisted on doing things that made the family happy but gave her nothing but suffocation!! The fact that these words were a part of her fb along with the vision of MB, PB, SF, Giga all turning away from her speaks volumes!! All that she has done for the family with her conscience's stamp of approval was nullified today. She has been carrying all these huge burdens, buried secrets within her and today all her pain and sacrifice in the name of the family amounted to nothing...

Gulaal has always been portrayed as this self assured woman but in the precap she is actually doubting each and every decision she has made over the past 10 years...I don't blame her...she is bound to think back and weigh all her decisions again. Her promise to get Talli and Kesu married, her choice to protect Dushy, her choice to keep V's murder a secret...

WORD!! 👏👏👏 That is exactly what I was mentioning in the EDT too - k as heart breaking as this was to watch, it seems that it was a necessary evil. This was the final blow to Gulaal's "Vasant ka sapna" wali comatose state.. She needed to see that she could step away from these burdens, that it wasn't her responsibility to do what is best for the family ALL THE TIME by taking all the decision, but rather to be there for them in the hard times so that they can recover from them.. She had to realize k the family would see it's share of pain - it was inevitable! But she should show her love for them by BEING there for them when they do (like Kesar was today, for her) instead of trying to deprive them of all their choices and making all the decisions for them.
For the longest time, Gulaal has been like that self appointed "parent" of the family who makes all the decision for the "kids" thinking k "she knows what's right".. In her attempt to "protect" them, she's stripped them of their right to choose and make decisions AND herself of her right to enjoy life! It's not fun having to live the lives of 10 different people at the same time and putting THEIR happiness before yours even if it is THEIR mistakes in the first place that would be bringing them that said pain..
That was not Vasant's dream. Vasant may have dreamed of a happy, unified home.. But I don't think he meant for that home to be held together under the false pretext of "happiness and togetherness". But being in as vulnerable a state as Gulaal was during Vasant's death wala track, it makes total sense how she'd clutch on to his ideology and interpret it in as extreme a manner as she did. It was her life line - her window to sanity and her Vasant.. *sigh*

Word @bold parts both of you - the precap looks so promising in that respect - I'm glad with how Kesar looks pained in her pain and the confession, but he's not jumping in to defend how she's made decisions for everyone... its what he told her long back, and although there was that time when she was admitting defeat before him over the Talli wedding matter that she said mujhse galti hogayi maine tum logo ko apna maan kar tumare faisle le liye... but the confession of her mistake that day and tomorrow will be drastically different... that day, even in 'naming' the blame as her own, she was discretely blaming him to not understand that she was only doing it for them but tomorrow sounds like a real dawning of her mistake - where she understands how just because she knows right from wrong inside her head she cannot be responsible for making everyone's share of decisions. How Vasant's dream was not to see her in a one man army role to unite the family, but to see the hearts of the people of the house come together - in good and bad, they had to stand together as a unit and bear their respective roles - not just pretend to be one house where Gulaal was doing it all! That cannot be fun, like you say Fivr - and that cannot be right either!

I hope Kesar will not defend her tomorrow, against her own realization - that he will nod with what she has finally realized, and then stand by the fact that beneath it all her intention cannot be belied and was never tarnished! And then consequently stand with her in the struggle to prove that point. Not that she was right about her decision - but that her intention was, and that she never was and never can be placed in the same category as Dushyant - whatsoever!

She looks so dead :(

That was a brilliant scene...hats off to Manasi. It just looks like her soul is no longer there with her...a vegetative state...her eyes just looked dead!

Well thankfully you're hopeless enough! Catching up with your CAPS is one of the prime attractions of bhatkoing on the forum discussions late into the night 😆

These three are so beautiful! Oh I'm totally abusing this word, and it's not even doing justice - but Gulaal breaks your heart and Kesar just melts it all over!!! It's absolute role reversal... this is Gulaal of a decade ago, cajoling and urging with rootha Kesuda - except Gulaal here is more along the lines of lifeless and broken ... but the way he holds her up, and pats her face to respond to him... oh these two...

Thanks for the caps Anu!
*sigh* The caps look too heart breaking.. And Gulaal looks so shattered and ghost-like.. Like she's lost "Vasant" all over again by being accused of being like DUSHYANT while all the while she had been attempting to fulfill VASANT's sapna for his family.. That has to be such a blow - to know k instead of Vasant, her actions were being likened to that of his murderer.. *sigh*
And the way Kesar protectively puts his arm around her to shield her from anyone and anything from there on out. How he didn't try to make her stand or rush her grieving process but rather just sat there with her - just as sad and solemn in her pain.. trying to be there for her and to comfort her with his presence and attention.. *sigh* These two! They break my heart..

but oh my god, that scene, when Gulaal falls and Kesar rushes to her, as doed Talli - what a beautiful beautiful representation of beginnings and closures! Life sure comes round in a full circle and the way Kesar's arm goes round her in a holding support and the way his hand further finds way to her face, caressing and freaked out worried and urging her to respond - it's like our first glimpse of Gulaal the child and Kesar the adult! I know we saw some semblance of such sequences when Vasant's death first came out before Gulaal - where Kesar had forgotten all his misery and loss only to seek her out - but this is different. At that point Kesar needed her as much as she needed him ... at this point its all about Gulaal's exclusive need (although their mutual presence for each other is always a necessity moment irrespective) but the way he takes... is such an overwhelming moment - and only this show, of any other, could make such subtlety out of such a momentous moment without having the camera go round in circles to capture every angle of their 'intimacy' - because that is where GK as a couple rise beyond any other! Every time they're physically supporting each other, is just a whole new nuance to their bond, and today was all about Kesar playing the role Gulaal played for him all these years! Starting from the point he tries to intervene and defend her against the accusations, reminded of the time MB told Gulaal not to come to Kesar's defense because she was always saving him and covering his wrongs - role reversal right there... and then the way she fell like a lifeless creature and Kesar rushed to her, worried all over her, fussed and pleaded for her to respond - every bit, Gulaal the fallen 'child' angel, and Kesar this silver lining in her darkest moment of disgrace and loss...
BOLD: OMG Jzee...that scene seriously gives me goosebumps!! When she fell, her eyes all vacant, I actually gasped because I have seen seen that 'nothing is here anymore' expression on her face, in her eyes. Even after V's death...she was in mourning but she held herself together but NEVER NEVER THAT VACANT LOOK!! I can totally understand why Kesar was all freaked out...because he has never seen her like that either. When he held her and caressed her face...he was scared out of his wits..actually not to dilute the moment but so was Talli!! Today MB was handing her so many blows...dhokha with the family, dhoka with Vasant, comparing what she had done to Dushy's act, making her stay in the house so she can watch them cry and suffer...that verbal attack literally killed her!

I have watched that part over and over again...said this a million times but BRAVO MANASI! 👏

Gulaal made all these decisions for the family without thinking that she has a responsibility towards herself. Vasant did not tell her to marry Kesar if he dies, he did not tell her to fix Kesar's marriage with Talli, he did not tell her to hide Dushyant's truth from the family. All these things she took on herself to most probably distract herself from the bitter truth that Vasant is no longer with her. Ironically, while trying to hold on to his memories, she lost herself in the process and that's where Kesar comes in because over time he has brought her back. All which she stood for, no longer exists. It was her bhram which has finally been shattered for her own good!

Mine too </3 I wasn't expecting them to remain in that position till night. I thought their next scene would be in the room but you can always expect the unexpected with this show. Both remained in the same posture, if she sat there half-dead and he joined in with her.

Just putting forth my views about today..I absolutely adored the cxinematography in the darkness and kes gul leaning on to each other being completely shattered and unaware of the surroundings...The more I see the new PB the more I cringe..absolutely horrible...THen I thought that its not really the fault of the actress actually we are so used to see high class performers in Gulaal that any thing mediocre seems cringeworthy...not forgetting to mention Talli's acting specially when she cries seems absolutely unbearable...almost the same every time..so enough of loathing...well for me todays episode was the beginning of a new bonding bw KG...as I had mentioned yesterday that marriage is such an institution which demands mutual support..and this mutual dependance makes the relationship strong and unique...so this dependance which was lacking from Gulaal might come into play...Every human being needs support and there is nothing wrong in it...can't wait for 2moro..when KG will talk about their troubled past..and Gulaal opening up😍

On a serious note...I actually love reading the discussions..but never participate coz you guys are just fantastic..I feel too shy to comment...but I absolutely love what you guys write..keep up the great work...Reemz,Jzee,anj,and fivr, anu...love your caps..👏

Well said! She forgot that for Vasant, she was as much a part of the family's responsibility, as the family was for her. While everyone saw her wilting away for a decade - there were some like MB who just retreated into this oblivion of kind, some like PB who saw it all and sympathized to no avail, and there were others like JK who could never do her any good. There was Dushyant, who for however much he may want would never be accepted by her, as her pillar. There was Sudha, who's onw life she had bound together by giving her Talli... there was Talli - who was this breath of effort in her life, but who could never be even half of Kesar's force to impose Gulaal's happiness as part of Gulaal's life! So it wasn't before Kesar came back - that anyone actually did anything to change circumstances for Gulaal. Instead, the way they made themselves dependent on her, this way and that - she became all the more bound to this role of being the sole support system that the house was running on... and because she is Gulaal - she tugged the burden all by herself for 10 long years... convincing herself this was Vasant's dream, and losing her real insight and foresight in the process!

As Talli told Kesar once - something I keep going back to - he was her first reason to actually hope and look forward to a change in a decade! He did come back like a dark storm and take away that hope from her briefly, but only he could kill it like that, and revive it all back like that too!
