KESAR IN THE KITCHEN

I had reserved my comments for the scene where Kesar pats Talli's head. But we had a skip of the continuation from there. From Kesar's end, the gesture was surely platonic. I wanted to see more of how Talli reacted. Anyways...

Kesar accepted the inanimate lifeless coin's inability to give ideas rather than just offering a Yes or No for an answer. When he plays the mouth organ, he gets an idea and thanks God for answering his sincere and heartfelt prayer. Very casually Kesar walks in to the kitchen; suddenly he is conscious of other's presence. He cooks up an unbelievable story, hovers around, is mischievous while looking at Jamna Kaki, eyes Reva for support, and manages to get Gulaal out of the kitchen.

Gulaal looked all confused and totally at a loss takes Reva's advice and meets him outside the kitchen. Very happily Kesar announces his plan to her and she seemed convinced. Just to scorn Jamna Kaki, she decides to leave with Kesar and Talli.

KESAR AT JEWELLERS

He asked for Lalji Ba, the singer who is Motaba's favorite. I like the simple hand gesture of Kesar when he grasps the direction to go straight and then turn right. Rather than just listening to him, the involvement in the conversation through hand gestures is remarkable. Such gestures that is in sync with the scene, is refreshing. I have to say I have noticed this from Neil in his KB also.

Kesar has stepped back and given Gulaal some space to adjust. I think he banks on the hope Talli gave him. He is bold to try taking the earring close to Gulaal's ears. GALOOL is super conscious or rather I could say she saw it coming when she saw him picking the earring with enthusiasm. Kesar showed confidence in going ahead with that step in public and the minute he realizes that Gulaal is too conscious he assures it is for Reva and he was just checking if it will suit her.

Talli breaks the public yet private moment. Gulaal was too conscious that she had to clear her stand saying he has bought it for Reva. Kesar was also a little conscious in front of Talli. I can say that Talli did find herself foolish, probably she was also sad seeing the first closeness between them because she knows very well how Kesar loves Gulaal (probably she related how Kesar had not got her the Chunar gift), but still smiled hearing about the gift for Reva.

Nobody asks such a question to anyone. Well it was none of his business, but it looked exaggerated. Probably it was required for all of them to realize how much publicized their personal lives had become and especially when Motaba held such reputation among all.

KESAR GULAAL MANDIR SCENE

It sort of becomes a conventional trip and falling into arms scene. It is okay, it was fine. But they gave a genuine reasoning for the tripping on the steps.

Talli after the previous scene did appear as if she wanted to be genuinely out of Kesar and Gulaal's space. She deliberately delayed and avoided walking with them. Both Kesar and Gulaal looked at each other and I guess they acknowledged the slippery steps. When Gulaal sought Talli's hand for support, she was hesitant, still gave it to her and looked at Kesar. Probably she was hinting Kesar to offer his hand to Gulaal as a support to climb the slippery steps. Kesar I felt refused her suggestion by a small nod of disapproval. I think Talli decides to walk ahead of them so that Gulaal will have to forcibly take Kesar's support and was probably inquisitive to check if her plan succeeded. But it was a change of the situation when Gulaal ran after Talli and in the process slipped, tripped and there she goes. The scene was not superfluous. Both Kesar and Talli as a reflex action rushed to her help. I too wish there wasn't Talli there in the scene, but it would be unnatural of Talli to stand and watch without going to help.

The way Kesar held her was also shot in the most civilized manner and I am happy with the scene where he supports as he held her hand and shoulder. Thankfully they did not mess it up just to add the necessary "masala" that makes for a typical romance. This scene looked authentic and undisputable in spite of using the routine"trip and fall into arms" formula. There have been similarities to the scenes between Vasant/Gulaal and Kesar/Gulaal. The yellow dupattah on the face was common. This trip and fall also happened when Vasant saves her as she fell from the Giant Wheel. That scene did not look genuine to me. But this was.

KESAR AT HOME

Kesar sounded really excited as he went and requested Raman and Sudha to join. Her taunt pales his excitement. He requests Talli to persuade Sudha. When he glances at Raman and Sudha simulataneously, Raman's thoughtful staring grabs Kesar's attention and he holds on eagerly to hear Raman's verdict. That was a simple scene but that subtle change of expression in Kesar was lovely. Such subtle emotions from Neil are a treat to watch.

KESAR AT THE MUSIC RECITAL

It was a lovely concert, the tune very soulful and had the classical/folk touch to it. I remember the days in school where we were taught to sing one song from all the Indian state languages and we used to be left grappling with the pronunciation. Though the song's meaning could not be interpreted entirely, the soulful music was relaxing.

Kesar is happy that he could bring a smile to Motaba's face. It was a blissful feel in his tears when he saw Motaba open up and participate in the singing. Kesar kept glancing at Gulaal, sadly Talli is always beside her. I think Talli also is so proud of what Kesar managed to do. Well, why won't she. She is officially still in love with Kesar.

Kesar acknowledges Talli's presence when she gets the softdrink (sharbat) for him, when finally Motaba declares that his tiredness of all these years has been left behind and he looked genuinely refreshed after the music concert, Kesar was relieved to hear that, he was happy and looked for support from Gulaal. There was a brief moment of togetherness in that scene were Kesar and Gulaal look at each other in the end.

Precap

I think for Gulaal to step out of her guilt that she ruined Talli's life; she needs to genuinely know if Talli can ever forgive her for those unfulfilled dreams and promises. What Talli tells her tomorrow would be very imperative and crucial to what step Gulaal would take regarding her relationship with Kesar in future.

I think Kesar just can't stop himself from acting flirtatious in a way towards Gulaal because they're friends now so he has that lee-way to get away with certain things he couldn't before. Two weeks ago, could you have imagined Gulaal readily accepting to leave the kitchen just so Kesar could have a private word with her? Hell no. But now the burden is uplifted, they both know that they have these 3 months together so there's no pressure on either of them.

They're carefree till Kesar comes closer to Galool ☺️ Now she automatically becomes conscious because no matter how big an ostrich she is, Gulaal cannot deny how strongly Kesar feels for her.

Today was a good start to what should be quite a spectacular journey from Gulaal's POV.

Yes the fall and grab scene has been done in every show but you're right that this was one of the few times where her fall was justified (wet stairs) and it looked natural the way she fell back but just got pulled back in time by Kesar. There wasn't any unnecessary dragging! It lasted the perfect amount.

When I saw how the 2 got together to hatch up this plan (mostly due to Kesar ofcourse), I thought that this is how GK always were. They were a team and after so long we got to see that.

Lovely analysis, Ganga👏

I agree on all the points you mentioned so don't really have much to add...

The scene where that random guy in the shop starts talking nonsense about KG, and who's the first wife and who's the second...yes it was exaggerated no doubt but definitely there was a reason that it was put in...to any outsider, this will sound like the most ridiculous set of events possible...kabhi ek shaadi, kabhi doosri, kabhi pehli hi nahin...but I loved how Kesar was about to beat him up too...lol...and somewhere this should make Gulaal think (dare I hope :P) about what a joke this all sounds...SHE'S the one who put it into motion to begin with.

In the last scene...when the musical act is going on and we see the happiness on everyone's faces...Kesar's eyes are obviously only searching out Gulaal...but Gulaal's reactions and her DELIBERATE attempts to keep away again made me think back to one of Kesar's hard hitting dialogues from Monday's epi..."Parivaar ke hote huye bhi tu AKELI rehna chahti hai?"...Today I got that sense from Gulaal...everyone was happy seeing this moment of joy in the house...with Motabha so happy...a happy atmosphere all around...and Gulaal, after passing the drinks along seems to remove herself and stand in a corner by herself...even as there's happiness on her face seeing Motabha happy but she keeps herself AWAY...always...like Kesar said...she's got family all around her but she seems to WANT to keep herself away...now I don't know if in this case it was also cuz she didn't want to stand anywhere near Kesar😆...but either ways, I got that sense from Gulaal today.

I wish when the guy at the shop asked him the same question that the interviewer had asked Neil, I wish Kesar calmly said Biwi No: 1 to GALOOL hai and would be is Talli Memsaab

Now do we have any suggestion for bringing physical closeness among two people other than fall into the arms concept. We can give many but can't be carried out in a television series.

As you say, they work as a team. Gulaal's opinion about Kesar has to change.
The first step to that was when he respected her wish and granted her freedom
The second was when she heard him speak to Poonamba that "wife or not", her happiness is his priority.
Today, she saw him plan a way to ease the situation and to bring some happiness to Motaba, the final tears as she looked at him was (I felt in a way) feeling happy for his thoughtfulness.
So let us see, how the plot is furthered from here.

I am more interested to see her moment of realization that she has wronged many people in the process of believing and doing things keeping the family's happiness

Love the way you make this reference to that truth which Kesar pointed out. Yeah she pretends to find happiness in other's happiness. But really is she happy? I am looking forward to what Talli's reply to Gulaal will be.

Hiya Ganga!

Somehow I missed your post today as well, but here I am belatedly.

So I personally thought Gulaal was not lost with the exchange in the kitchen. IMO, she was viewing the version of Kesar she's used to - who will come looking and ranting only for her, and then will get his way whatever the means. But she's not threatened/embarrassed by his presence at this point, not even by his public display of attention solely for her.

In the earring scene - he takes her much by surprise. Kesar has played his wisest card in 'becoming friends' with her, because it gives him a lot more freedom and liberty to 'be himself' with her, than if it was a mere cordiality of forgiving and being forgiven - as exists between Dushyant and Gulaal - not that GK could ever be like that, but it was thoughtful of him to induce the friendship clause. Gulaal had no grounds to reject him that, and he has given himself a platform to make his moves. I'm not suggesting he is plotting at every point for how to get Gulaal back - but I think he's really aiming to make these 3 months worthwhile - and beneath his Gulaal's happiness is my priority funda, is a deep belief that only he can bring back the happiness. She beats him to it, when she comes up with her long speeches, but just today and now Kesar has seen live proof of how he can draw her out of the shell when he does it the right way... The earring scene was a blatant challenge - this way and that - so full of mischief and daring, that Gulaal didn't know what hit her till it did - and then she had but two options, to remain in denial of comprehending it, or to show comprehension and hence also admit to many other things she pretends blind eye to.

The fall was symbolic to me, and just that. Kesar's reactions as he saved her, and the moment after she snatches her hand was fantastic! Spooked Galool versions all over today's episodes were a sadistic relief, lol!

Overall - a very well paced and content high episode.

Totally agree! Very well put, Jzee👏👏...Unwittingly in some ways, wittingly in others, Kesar has indeed played his wisest card with this "let's be friends for 3 months atleast" funda...he's not deliberately plotting anything...he honestly just wanted to get their camaraderie back atleast...and Gulaal has agreed out of gratefulness so like you said, she no longer has grounds to reject him yet at the same time, Kesar has a platform to be himself...to express himself more openly, sometimes slyly like the earring scene today😆...but he's not doing it out of some kind of conscious idea to plot...he genuinely only wants to bring her happiness in one form or the other.

But why do I dread that somewhere down the road, Gulaal will most definitely accuse him of "misusing" this friendship?😕

She beats him to it, when she comes up with her long speeches, but just today and now Kesar has seen live proof of how he can draw her out of the shell when he does it the right way... LOL I love how you described this...there was a challenge in that scene for sure...mischief...and Gulaal really didn't know how to take it...so she chose the safer route of continuing to remain in denial ofcourse😆...As always, the unsaid is what's fascinating...there were so many undercurrents they could both feel in that scene but first her, then him agreed to go ahead with the excuse to brush it aside😆

The fall was symbolic to me, and just that. Kesar's reactions as he saved her, and the moment after she snatches her hand was fantastic! Spooked Galool versions all over today's episodes were a sadistic relief, lol! LMAO worddd...I do get a lot of sadistic pleasure out of watching spooked Galool😈😆

I too noticed it.. As I watching the scene yesterday I was reminded of the same from KB scene too. When I read it in your post I felt like commenting on your thread. 😊 Really nice to know that Neil is very, very particular about the smallest of his expressions and gestures.. I liked it too and it was indeed remarkable.

Iam a bit confused with the precap.. @black.. So agree with you. And my prediction is Talli will be the ultimate saviour of the show.

Altogether a lovely description.
