Dushyant knocks on Gulaal's door and enters when she doesn't respond. Gulaal is on her bed crying. He tells her remorsefully that today because of him people are saying bad things about Gulaal, he doesn't know how to ask her forgiveness or what to do, all these years he has lived in fear that if people find out about his action what will he do, but since Kesar has returned he lives in even more fear that what if Kesar finds out, but then he thinks about Mota Bha who blesses Dushyant thinking him to be his own son, what if Mota Bha finds out about Vasant. He continues that till today Gulaal has been quiet about his sin and in return because of him the family is breaking. Gulaal tells him that she will never let that happen, she will not turn back from her responsibility to the family, she will always fulfill Vasant's dream. He tells her that he finds it harder to deal with living with his act than death itself. Gulaal tells him crying that she wishes he had felt this when he did that act, she kept quiet only because of her promise to Vasant that come what may she will not let the family break, she has never forgiven Dushyant and neither will she ever able to forgive him, because of Vasant and this family she learned to keep this truth buried inside herself, but today she realized how alone she really is. She tells him that he has no idea what he took from her. Dushyant looks remorsefully at her and has tears. He flashbacks to his good times with Vasant and his murdering him, and leaves sadly.
Mota Bha's brother sat next to him. Mota Bha asks him what happened, he thinks that a worried father has come to see him, not his brother. His brother tells Mota Bha that he feels very restless when he thinks about Raman. Mota Bha tells him that when a kid learns to walk and staggers and falls it causes the most pain to the mother, when kids grow up and stagger while walking the dagger goes deep into the father's heart, both of them are experiencing the same pain. The brother tells Mota Bha that Raman causes him a lot of pain by going behind the bars and now this. Mota Bha tells him that he feels that there is big trouble in store for the family, and they cannot do anything despite wanting to do something, what will happen to the family behind them.
Kesar returns to his room and is boiling with anger. He flashbacks to the gossiping women and Dushyant's going to Gulaal's room. He is unable to deal with his anger and goes down angrily. Mota Bha calls him on his way, and asks where he is going. Kesar responds "why what happened". Mota Bha says he wants to talk to Kesar, Kesar says about what, Mota Bha asks why his behavior seems different. Kesar asks him what is different about him. Mota Bha tells him that doesn't he know he does everything against the family, he has no idea about good or bad or he has an idea and on purpose ignores it, he is scared when he sees this behavior. Kesar responds what is the need to get scared, it is not necessary that his view on right or wrong should be the same as others', and goes to leave. Mota Bha stops him saying that he has not yet completed his talk, Kesar tells him he doesn't want to talk right now because his emotional state is not good. Mota Bha angrily says that he will only do what he wants and doesn't care about anyone else, when Kesar was drunk on the terrace Mota Bha did not say anything because it would be futile, but today Kesar has no shame in his eyes or respect for elders, today what is happening has never happened before. Kesar says that many things have happened in this house that nobody is answerable for, yet why does everyone demand an answer from Kesar for everything.
Mota Bha asks him what has happened in this house, has it ever happened that a son has come intoxicated with alcohol, today one son is supporting an enemy and Kesar is standing beside him. Kesar tells him that worse things are happening, people are saying bad things, Mota Bha says he is not worried about the people but worries about the family members and Kesar. Mota Bha puts his hand on Kesar's shoulder and tells him calmly that he has to understand and become very responsible and has to think of the family first, he has to think before taking any step, he has to take Vasant's place and assume his responsibilities. Kesar gets annoyed hearing this as if he is sick of hearing it all the time. Mota Bha continues that Vasant's shoes are waiting for him even today but he has to prove himself worthy, Dushyant has realized his responsibility and its time for Kesar to do the same. Kesar interrupts Mota Bha and angrily says that Mota Bha's problem is that he always looks for Vasant in Kesar, this is his biggest problem that he wants Kesar to be like Vasant, to stand, sit, eat, and walk like Vasant. (Kesar is an amazing amazing actor, I LOVE the way he says this in frustration). He yells in frustration that he is not Vasant. Mota Bha looks shocked and furious. Kesar continues that he can never be Vasant, and he doesn't want to be like Vasant. Mota Bha feels hurt as if his dreams are shattered. Kesar asks him to stop looking for Vasant in him. Everyone comes there. Kesar continues that Mota Bha's another problem is that there are things buried in the family under his nose that he doesn't know about, everyone sees Kesar's faults but not in those who wear the mask of goodness, first go tell them then talk to Kesar.
Dushyant yells Kesar name and asks if this is any way to talk to Mota Bha. Kesar says "stop" and holds his palm towards Dushyant. Kesar tells him that it is better if Dushyant doesn't say anything, he has lost the right many years back. Mota Bha tells Kesar to talk with respect, Dushyant is his older brother. Kesar says Dushyant is his older brother, no, he is not his older brother, in this house nothing is as it seems, neither is Dushyant as he seems. While Kesar is saying this, they show Vasant's photo behind him. (Dushyant probably realizes now or strongly suspects that Kesar knows about Vasant). Kesar glares into Dushyant's eyes and says that he is not what everyone thinks he is, he is not. Gulaal comes from behind turns Kesar around and slaps him. (This was totally uncalled for. How dare she? Kids rebel, and she has no right to hit him. He did not even say anything bad. She could have slapped when he said things to Mota Bha, but all he told Dushyant is that he is not what he seems, what is so offensive in that?) Everyone looks shocked, Kesar looks very hurt, Gulaal looks furious.
Gulaal asks him how dare he talk like this to Dushyant, everything has a limit, Kesar cannot talk to his elders like this. Kesar gets very angry. Mota Bha tells her there is no point in saying anything to Kesar. Gulaal insists that they have let go of many of Kesar's mistakes, not anymore, instead of helping out in this critical time he is making things worse. Worse things have happened in the family, but at least everyone showed respect to others, Kesar will have to do the same. Kesar has tears in his eyes and leaves from there. Gulaal realizes what she did and sits down scared and shocked. Dushyant tells her that she should not have done that. Jamna tells Dushyant to not interfere between husband and wife. Dushyant insists, she tells him that today onwards Dushyant will stay away from their personal life, Dushyant tells her firmly that this is his family and the family's worries are his. Talli comes there and hears Dushyant saying that he is worried about Kesar's acting out in anger. Gulaal cries and sees Talli, Talli goes back up worried.
Precap: Paan Baa tells Gulaal that she came to remind her to wake up early next morning since she has to do the var-savitri fast. Talli is behind Gulaal listening. Gulaal says she cannot do it, Paan Baa responds that she knows Gulaal doesn't place importance on the deeyarvattu but a ritual is a ritual, and by that she is Kesar's wife. She tells Gulaal that it is up to her whether she wants to fast.
