He found out just before he went away to the boarding school and also one the reasons he went as well is, that Dushyant is the one behind Vasant being killed as D chucked him in the lake and Gulaal knowing about it, Gulaal found out later on but she decided to forgive him to some extent coz to keep all the family together, its whats Vasant wanted - his whole family together always
