You are spot on. AJ doesn't let his ego dictate his behavior, which is why he's such a great character (and husband goals of course!)Also, I think it would be really lame to have Guddan marry a much older man who is silly or immature to the point of getting stuck in ego clashes and useless arrogance. AJ is a mature character, and bar a few incidents (since he's human), he's been pretty dignified and shown the maturity that a guy in his mid-40s and head of the household should.
I think I have managed to see the first 30 episodes of the show that I missed out, 10 more episodes to go. The change in Akshat's character is just amazing. From a rude, arrogant guy he has transformed to a mature and understanding guy. Just love the transformation. Maybe he was always like this which is why his first wife also used to love him dearly, as Guddan said he is weird but there is just something that makes her feel attracted towards him. Maybe Antra's death is what had made him rude and arrogant, he really needed someone like Guddan to bring his life back on the right track.
