Part 5 Ateet ka Dard
"Tell me now, Revati... Akshat asked as he leaned his back against a tree.
Warily Revati checked the park for any acquaintances and once sure, heaved a sigh of relief. So far so good!
Quite a few hours earlier, GK had created a major ruckus in Jindal House and threatened her mother who apparently was not her mother. During that exchange when GK had her undivided attention directed towards Kaushalya, Rewa had slipped a paper to Akshat, which asked him to meet at a certain place.
"You could have called me? Akshat suggested and Rewa nodded in negative. "I can't Jiju! My phone is on surveillance 24*7 and GK...I mean di would have got suspicious and I couldn't risk being exposed after the fiasco with my mother.
"Your mother... AJ trailed as Rewa nodded. He was here for answers.
"I met Di 15 years back. Mr. Bhushan Khurana was a well-known trader of Indore and lead a peaceful life with his wife, Sujata Khurana and 6 year old daughter, Garima khurana aka Guddan Di. About that time, my father, Sujoy Gupta had expired in a car crash, leaving his wife, Kaushalya Gupta and 4 year old daughter, Rewa Gupta to fend for themselves. We were practically on the roads since my mother wasn't educated but then Mr. and Mrs Khurana came to our aid. They had shifted into our area a few weeks after my father's demise and took plight in our condition. Mrs Khurana had a frail body and thus was sick most of the time and therefore, my mother was hired to look after her and GK. I and GK instantly hit it off and treated each other like sisters we never had. Garima was a cheerful, bubbly, happy-go-lucky girl just like Guddan Di. Mrs Khurana and my mother became friends too and things were going quite well... Rewa stopped.
A girl shouted her vocal cords out as her tears were overridden by the rain that drenched her completely. She dropped to her knees and looked on with horrified eyes as another ear piercing sound cut across the air and everything was covered in red.
GK's eyes snapped open as beads of sweat trickled down her jawline. Gasping for breath, she jumped of the recliner and looked at her hands with horrified eyes. They were Red.
"Kya hua tha?! Akshat asked softly, patting her shoulders.
"Mrs Khurana died. GK, who was very close to her mother was heartbroken. She was 12 then. Mr. Khurana was unable to console his own daughter because he was grieving the loss of the woman he loved and thus, GK came to live with us. Months passed but GK's trau...pain wasn't decreasing in the slightest. Mummy used to treat us both equally, but this was a misconception of mine that was going to shatter a few years later... Rewa flinched as she reminisced the blank empty eyes of Garima.
" Shayad Bhagwan bhi yahi chahta tha! GK hissed venomously looking out the window of her high rise hotel suite. Draped in a white bathrobe, as she sipped on her red wine, a screeching sound was heard in the background.
Flashback
"Kitne mahine ho gye uss Sujata ko mare hue par wo Bhushan Khurrana hai ki apni uss biwi ke dukh se nikalna hi nhi chahta! Isiliye toh maine uski beti Garima ko apne saath rakha tha taki wo dekhe meri mamta aur mujhe apni beti ki maa ke roop mein apna le par nhi, usse toh koi hosh hi nhi hai! Aur yaha uss Garima ne jeena haram kar rakha hai, jab dekho mummy mummy karke lipat jati hai aur apne rone se sardard kar deti hai. Bojh ban gayi hai ye ladki! Mujhe laga tha ki uss sujata ke marne ke baad vo saari property meri hogi par nhi, gayi toh gayi, meri chaati par moong dalne ke liye ek aafat chod gayi..
*shatter*
A line of deep red traced the palm to the wrist before dropping on the marble floor. As GK opened her fist, remnants of wine glass mixed with her blood splattered on the floor with a deafening noise. "I had lived through my mother's death. I had pent up pain bottled inside me but every time I cried on your shoulders, I felt relief...maine tumhe maa maana but tumne kya kiya Kaushalya! GK turned around to face Kaushalya who was tied to a wooden chair and her mouth was gagged. She tried to scream but failed, tried to move but to no avail as GK stepped closer with a condescending look in her eyes.
" Ek 13 saal ki masoom bachi ka dil tumne chakna choor kar diya, bilkul inn kaanch ke tookdo ki tarah.. GK collected the glass pieces in her hand and circled around Kaushalya, who nodded her head in negative, in desperation. "Itna bada dhokha wo masoom Garima bardasht nhi kar paayi, nahi seh payi wo kadwi baatein jo uski maa saman Kaushalya aunty ne kahi aur vo dard jo aansuon ki shakl mein nikalta tha, ab gusse ki aag ki tarah foota a...and it consumed her! GK smirked as Kaushalya closed her eyes to fight the pain that cut across her senses just like the glass piece cut across her hand, right below her wrist.

GK looked on amused as Kaushalya writhed from the searing pain that was intensified by the salt particles being poured on her wound. Tears rolled down her eyes as she pleaded to GK to stop. "Is it hurting Maa!? You want me to stop! GK asked troubled as Kaushalya nodded, and the troubled look was displaced by a lopsided grin.
"Why are wasting your energy, Kaushalya? Unless and until, you learn your lesson, you won't be allowed to leave the class! GK spoke like a teacher and then leaned closer, " Ghutan ho rahi hai? You want to cry your pain out!? But that paper ball is not allowing it na!! Mujhe bhi aisa hi lagta tha. Everyday...every damn day after that revelation, I had to force myself to live with you, live through those loathsome looks you would send my way, that nasty glare that would twist into your eyes whenever I would wake up screaming from nightmares. It felt like you were doing me a favour even though lakhs of rupees were hauled down your throat to look after me. And this mental harassment of yours would have continued had Pops not come to my rescue.. GK's lips curved upwards as she kneeled in front of Kaushalya and emptied a water bottle on her wound.
"Pops?! AJ asked confused. He could finally understand the pain in Guddan's eyes. How could Kaushalya Gupta stoop so low!
"Yes, Pops aka Digvijay Kapoor i.e GK's nana. He was always on the move so when he heard about his only daughter's death, he came to take his granddaughter and his son-in-law with him. And thus Di and Mr. Khurana left for Dubai with Pops.
It wasn't until 5 years later that I came to realize how my mother had let herself be consumed by greed and poisoned an innocent heart with hatred' Rewa thought, hugging herself ashamed.
"Jayce, come in! GK shouted as she draped a bandage over Kaushalya's wound. "Get this wench out of here, she is an eyesore! GK commanded, moving away from Kaushalya as Jayce nodded and started untying Kaushalya.
"And make sure to get her treated, I want this wound gone by tomorrow morning...not a single scar should be visible! Get that? GK asked as Jayce nodded yet again and started dragging Kaushalya away.
"One more thing, ask Rewa to come over right away and take care that she does not see this abomination in this condition
"Yes, My Lady! Jayce nodded as he closed the door behind him and GK looked at her palms where dried blood was smeared. "I am back, maa! And this time, I'll have it! I'll have your REVENGE!

Leaving her words midway, Rewa looked at her screen and her eyes widened. Jayce was calling. With shivery hands, she picked up the phone as his voice cut through, like a dagger. "Why was there a delay in picking up the phone?
"Nhi..wo... Rewa stammered, afraid.
"GK is asking for you so get here quick. If I don't see you here in 5 minutes dot then I'll come over and consequences won't be pleasant
"I-I am coming! Rewa replied and started to storm off when AJ caught her wrist.
"Kya hua Revati? Why are you so scared? Who was it?! Akshat asked as Revati tried to get her wrist out, "Let me go Jiju! It was Jayce, Di...GK is asking for me and I-I need to go...because if Jayce comes over, hell will come to pass! Revati snatched her wrist from his grip and turned around to run but Akshat caught her yet again.
"Jayce! Parv?! Kya connection hai inka Guddan se?! Why are you so scared? Aur tumne abhi bhi mujhe sab kuch nhi bataya hai! I still need to know who is GK!? You are hiding things, Rewati...I know it! AJ asked while Rewa continued to look towards the entrance to hotel.
Time was flying. Any minute now, he will come here! No!
"Agar main rahoongi hi nhi toh aap sach kese jaan payenge! Revati shouted as Akshat let his grip on her wrist loosen and saw her hurry away.
Why was she so scared? Guddan would never harm Revati, sister or not so then who was Revati afraid of? Of Parv? But why? Wasn't he GK's accomplice!?'
"Shit! AJ cursed as he punched the tree annoyed. He had so many questions and no answers at all! Everything was complicated. What he thought of as Truth wasn't truth anymore. Guddan Gupta was Garima Khurana and Revati Gupta wasn't even her step sister. Parv wasn't Parv but Jayce and he was working under Guddan. And to top it off, currently he was standing in the gardens of one of the most expensive hotels of India where Guddan was currently staying. But Guddan wasn't rich but GK is! Even Rewa said that her phone was on surveillance, why?! Who is GK?!
