As far as Sitara's track record is concerned, it has proven to be ruthless. Even Rangu. But then Sitara doesn't have a lack of budgets or sponsorships, since it's owned by the Star Network. As the funds are being directed towards Star Sports which is probably airing all the premier sports leagues in the country and also has the international rights for broadcasting in India, their GECs are just cost cutting to maximise the profits with the bare minimum investments. Basically kanjoos or a being a miser. They might take the shows off the broadcast immediately or just continue. They themselves seem confused and panicky.

I can confirm tell you this about Ghum ph.Ghum ph is the most bhakari ph. No maker takes a leap when the show is still in the top 5. But Ghum did it twice. First during Ishvi’s track when the trp was 2.4, then again during Saraj with 2.3. Just to avoid paying actors higher salaries after their 6-month contracts renewal. So they force a leap every 6 months. The actors themselves confirmed it 🤡

Meanwhile, Rangu isn’t doing much better. Even “Lakshmi Ka Safar,” which is the slot leader, and “Rishta,” have the same trps. So they’re basically on the same level. But Rangu is more ruthless than sp. At least sp lets a show with 1.4 trp run for 9 months—Rangu will pull the plug in 4 months if it’s not performing.

Now, sp is definitely planning a major revamp. There are even rumors that “Jhanak” might go off-air. See, weekly trps are important, but what really counts is the monthly average. If a show has consistent numbers like 2+ or even 1.7, the makers have some bargaining power. But if the average is 0.9 or 1.1, there’s no case to be made. Those shows will be the first to go
