So According to new update of Ghum ka wikipedia page, New gen is remake of Mohor’s Telugu version “Guppedantha manasu”.
As per that Ishaan and Reeva’s mutual affection will result into an engagement but on engagement day Reeva will get the call for phd in London and Ishaan will ask her to chose between either him or phd, and she will chose the latter, that’s how the union will be broke, however in og there was love marriage between leads but here it’ll be forced marriage between Ishan and Savi and till the time Reeva comes back he’ll be already married to Savi and then then love triangle will start, also as per Og, Ishan’s parents will be big support to Savi and she’ll also try to unite both of them and restore Isha’s rights……Ishan’s foster parents aka his uncle-aunt will be negative, however they’ll have much influence of them on him rather than his own parents…..
This is the synopsis of the upcoming story as per the Og…..
however neutral review, I did try to watch first couple of episodes but clearly there’s some missing link, the execution is rushed and except Savi other characters are not at all established, Savi is also not much explored like her emotional side is completely missing, Ishan’s character is bleh, Reeva is genuinely very sweet but unfortunately this doesn’t go with her character because people are supposed to hate her character, imo, although unpopular, I feel Aishwarya Slayed there, the character Patralekha was supposed to make us hate her and she succeeded in it, which Reeva is lacking, one just feel only softness for her, Ishan’s family also seems boring and overly toxic plus the actors are also not helping much, they could’ve written far better intro scene for Bhonsle family….
overall the old charm is missing and Ghum doesn’t feel like Ghum, it def seem as if we are watching some different show, the writer and creative team lacked to maintain connection with the previous generation and last but not the least Ghum does seem Empty without Sai and Virat for real, they were indeed the soul of the show, however I wouldn’t entirely written off the current generation, they should take their time to adjust and hopefully things get better with time but as of now it’s little disappointing.
