Till 500 episodes, they were very sure they can become famous as a personal couple. If you see, she used to cling with him during Sai and V interviews.

But after SJ they realised it was not happening. So they invaded the show ka story and made changes so quickly that they became a couple in the show.

TRP. They needed trp then. Original story from kd got them much needed trp. They rushed leads centric tracks like remarriage, pregnancy. Because they want to show surrogacy as soon as possible.

They got good trp despite showing vp as couple. Had they got low trp then the story would have been different. When they r getting trp by showing their fav virakhi then why would they miss such chance.Now also sairat will be end game but after showing virakhi journey.

I don't think so their trp decreased rapidly after they cut KD off. Rn TRPs are stable but it's not same like they used to have back then.
