You have spoken about this so much that I am actually tempted to catch all the episode. I saw a few clips and they were all great
See after watching ghum... anything will feel light hearted.
S2 doesn't have the pull as much as S1 was... I now understand why it was so popular and iconic. If you excuse some aspects relevant to that time and the costumes/sets... S1 is still relevant. I still go and watch S1 when I feel like.
But still whatever changes they have made keeping the core intact are turning out good.
Few things which I have mentioned previously as well.
1. Lead chemistry works. I have not seen their earlier show but this is definitely nice. They are good friends and it reflects on screen.
2. Villains in the show have small wins... end main FL hi Jeet ti Hai. Or if something happens like their separation, it's not nasty. Ram in his heart knows Priya is not responsible for his sisters death.
3. Other characters have a story and some importance in the proceedings. They have dialogue, tasks and they help move the story forward. Like I just mentioned about Brinda.
4. Easy going vibe, Language is not crass.
5. All the religious rituals that happen are with their associated meaning. They help to bring the leads closer or they stress that point to others and everyone assembled. There is literally no mocking of any festival so far like Ghum has done repeatedly.
5. Leads consummated their 'deal' marriage before confession. If that's not growth by ITV standards I don't know what is 😊
Cons
Ram is very naive even though he is a successful businessman. But he is a very sensitive human being as it is. Show is written majorly by female writers. It reflects 👍🏼
Beech main PL ko kaafi importance mili thi. Fans protested aur uska patta cut hua thode din. She is back but not so important now.
