I would echo Nethraa...
This analysis doesn't look like ghum. Probably because you are a writer you could see it and we as audience couldn't...
Does it where this fails???
This is tricky to answer 😁 I'll try...
To begin with I'm a self-taught writer before I took professional courses.
The first thing that we focus on as writers is - what is the scene trying to depict. The thought behind it. The idea behind its portrayal. And it's no secret - it takes great amount of patience to translate the exact image in the mind on paper in the form of words. Takes a lot of practice.
That's one reason I've stopped criticising TV writers. I always had a feeling that writers enjoy great power through ideas but that's not true. After walking through various industries in different roles I've realised that the true decision making lies with someone else. It is never the writers. That's thin line between creativity and survival. If you want to survive, earn money produce what's asked of you, not what you want to.
I thrive on metaphors 😂 And Sairat is almost a poetry to me. Otherwise I wouldn't have been here.
I think this scene is after Sai's result of entrance exam. Before they go for her admission.
They spoke of river and her philosophy.
Sai - we can never touch the same river twice.
V - River never gives up till she gets her way.
This philosophy now gets reversed. After shruthi's track V wants to live in present - (never touch the same river. He has accepted things can never be same as before between them)
Sai on the other hand is trying all means to win V (river never gives up till she gets her way)
V has repeatedly said that he lives in present, and Pakhi lost her place in his life though he never openly proclaims it but he's over her. And Sai always said that she never gives up and time and again has proven this.
Gist behind their river conversation -
The other person fulfills their philosophy.
Sai's philosophy fulfilled by V.
V's philosophy fulfilled by Sai.
Why are they stuck now?
Why is V unable to move on and get over the bitterness? His philosophy (Sai) left him. Even if she's trying he notices her efforts, but the fear has gripped him. He believes in not giving up and he has already seen Sai giving up.
Once again Sai is giving up after all her efforts, the fear is becoming a reality. His philosophy is shaken again.
Why is Sai giving up? Her philosophy (V) is not acknowledging her. Her philosophy is shaken. Past has overburdened present. How can she put efforts when the present is suffocated?
It's almost like they fulfill each other's understanding of life. (Life because philosophically and metaphorically river is related to life).
Today's precap - Brilliant!
Sai speaks about Sea/Ocean.
What's the ultimate destination of a river?
It's the ocean. Who's the ocean?
She's referring to Virat.
V talks about courage. And who has courage? The one who never gives up. Who doesn't lose grace in their hard journey. He referred to this even in the river dialogue. It was more like a river never loses her softness no matter how hard the rock is.
He's indirectly referring to Sai.
He asks a million dollar question.
Why did she give up on them?
The truth is she hasn't.
She says he never really wanted to give things a second chance. More or less on these lines..
Ab Feeling samjho. Shabd jaane do.
But ocean seems to disregard the river. Why will the river be willing to come where she's not accepted? It's almost like the ocean feels the river as a pollutant.
I'm absolutely hoping that V wakes up to this.
Lamp significance - you've covered somewhere else, I'll reply there. It's long. 😂
Anyway... IshRa did have a similar scene. But before the consummation there's another at airport. At least ghum can take inspiration there. That's another show i watched in lockdown
I know the airport scene. It was shot in a mall 😂
I feel the same about SaiRat. They have very measured responses with each other. But right now at this juncture it would be great if they can for once leave it and blurt out everything. Have nothing to lose since they have already decided to part ways. Rather leave on honesty.
There's another thing I realised about Sairat in these two episodes. I might be rooting for some kind of outburst! But it won't match the way they are characterised. If you follow their journey from beginning unlike other lead pairs, anger has only brought out the worst of them. There's no point.
They see sense only after they calm down.
Shruthi's track -
Sai understood things only after the kidnapping.
She was scared, guilty, remorseful but her mind was calm. And baby put one one together and got the right answer.
And now V is seeming to calm down.
Scene 1 - PD sir lunch visit
V - shayad main hi jyada bol gaya. Kya kar diya yaar.
(After Ashwini schools him)
Scene 2 - Hospital Ajinkya kaand
V - tum bhaagi kyun? Main kaha tha na. Ruk jaati baat kar lete the. Yeh toh nahi hota. (To himself) chillana nahi chahiye tha .
The insecurities is what I feel that holds them back. Wrote a piece on it few days back. I guess i mentioned it to you too. If not, will tag you. Would like to know your opinion.
Please tag me everywhere. I'm slow to respond. 😂 thanks to my work and masters. But I'll surely read and reply.
The whole crux is for the first time i guess they are on similar planes... Not same but similar... It's a perfect opportunity to bridge the gap.
If there's a seperation now, the makers will have to write a completely interesting plot to get them back together and i don't know if it will even work.
Confession has to happen now ... I see no other option.
My reply in bold red.
