Even if they started with such reference in their mind, at this point the execution is so bad that we must refrain from bringing in references of Shiv Parvaati and n Ram Sita or any religious character for that matter! Comparing Sai Rat to Any of them is huge disrespect to these gods!

PS: just noticed separate thread on this so reposting my comment here! 🙏

I completely agree with you!

In fact I'm extremely unhappy with V's character arc. There's no clarity. And have mentioned the same time and again.

Cmn to the analogy - I've tried to put it out as a screenwriting principle - something that CV's hinted at in the show (this absolutely doesn't come from my brain).

And by analogy, it doesn't mean that the character has become God and especially in 2022 no chance!

It's a standard formula - give the characters few traits of some God and add some flaws to them so they become grey. ( doesn't mean the character has become the God)

I respect your opinion, but this post doesn't intend to hurt anyone's religious sentiments.

And going by Ghum's execution, I'm complaining about the same since the time I've joined.

Yes that’s true .. all hindu couples try to emulate Shiv Parvati qualities unconsciously.. it’s always reinforced when they are performing rituals together ..

I do see Leena heavily influenced by her ..

I agree with this .. the makers have tried putting those flowers .. then showing Sai praying to mahadev

Calling virat shiva in the initial episode.. so they Themselves have started this

Makes sense. Its just that the way they are whitewashing Virat n the way he is ignoring everything Sai has been doing for him and insulting him day in and out olus now again back to bitching about her with Pakhi, at this momnt its hard to see anything remotely positive in his character.

At the moment, I am just spending time reading different perspectives to get some positive light on his character, incase I am missing something but all theories fall flat when it comes to his treatment of Sai, love care empathy sympathy he is showing none of it! 🥺

Thats why I couldn’t stop my self from posting. No hard feelings at all.

Your knowledge on Shiv seems quiet deep appreciate that 😊

At this point though they seem to have forgotten what they started. They definitely have lost grip on characters. If they started that analogy they have miserably failed to hold it. Virat isnt only flawed right now. Forget Shiv Parvati they haven’t been able to hold integrity of Rono character either by showing hyeful behavior towards Sai and unnecessary physical scenes with Shruti and Pakhi.

It’s literally as if the writers changed midway and didn’t bother to check what was shown in past!

Okay!

So i read this half asleep. And i read it ulta. Was about to take off the post 😅

But yes, I've been around IF for the last 9 years. I'm initiating a thread in a forum after 5 years.

Cmn to spewing hatred. I've had all kinds of experiences on IF but have always enjoyed this space because people are open for discussions.

Have written on multiple platforms, but IF feels like home to me!

And i don't exaggerate when I say this. But I met my group on IF. And we chat regularly on IG. And not just that we met in real life too!

But yeah, I didn't expect this kind of publicity after 5 years of sabbatical 😂

I agree with most of your points here ..@Sab04,

I cannot co relate an ideal husband which woman pray for .. As Shivji with a character like Virat / Rono ..

Most if you in the thread have mentioned Shivji qualities.. it is difficult for mortals to have most of them

but virat does not even have the basic thing of respecting his wife .. he can deny her food .. when he’s angry with her .. he has no fear about her safety .. shown in multiple incidents cannot repeat ..

It’s always his ego above anyone else ..

He is an interesting character no doubt a flawed individual.. and he’s realistic because we find many virat’s living around us .. so we can connect to him ..

Sai I wish they had made more realistic .. by adding Vankar ka version .. they are making her unbelievable.. wish they had stuck to Leena’s interpretation ( Emon ) ..

I don’t think the author( Leena) imagined then as Shiv Parvati .. most likely she might have drawn inspiration from many Bengali literature from Sarat Chandra and others .. I see influence of it from there ..

Thanks for sharing your POV! Really appreciate it.

I refrain from talking about KD because I haven't seen it and dont intend to watch it.

My simple sasta logic for any daily show's remake is - copy till the new show allows you to. But let it take its own course over time.

And be it any medium, there comes a point when characters start telling their own story.

That's smthn makers have royally ignored.

If they had shown V as flawed from the beginning, they should stick to it. My complain with Shruthi's track is the sudden "whitewashing" of V. And it doesn't stop there, the audience is expected to sympathize with him.

I don't care if its taken from KD or not.

Aur mere keh dene se koi bhagwan ban jaata toh baat hi kya thi!

Keep sharing your thoughts. Always love reading ❤

The feeling is mutual Sadhika!

I enjoy drawing parallels with mythological stories.

There's a lot to be inspired from them!

Again I wished makers were a little clearer about V's characterisation.

Beech mein hi flawed. Beech mein hi mahaan.

It is simply that I'm trying to derive multiple meanings of his characterisation here. That's exciting but equally frustrating.

Interesting take.

My knowledge of mythology is not as great as you...

So i cannot comment on most of it.

Yes, they have subconsciously stressed that analogy upon us right from the start, so it should technically make sense if it continues...

To me... The actual degradation of V started in Shruti track. I could still understand him quite a bit even after post anniversary.

I have always loved the mimo track. That to me is the potential future SaiRat. Working together, standing up for each other and sometimes just being there for each other. That's how I see them.

I have not watched KD, did see some episodes for comparison... And the reason I think V failed in Shruti is because the makers are intent on copying but failed it take the timeline in consideration.

Even in Shruti, V was still somewhat okay. He did tell her more than the family. But his failure to reflect on her pain is my grudge. It's completely lost. And V has been perceptive. So for him to recognise it in her is what I don't understand.

And now the messed up timeline of suddenly jumping to final year makes no sense. It's difficult to imagine that a passionate individual like V will be able to hold his feelings for her for 5 years. It's total crap.

Hooe it resolves soon and we get Sai to voice her pain or V understands her pain somehow.

Khair...

Your analogy made me think of Amish's Meluha trilogy. The Shiv-Sati in that are humans with God like qualities. And I absolutely love how he has weaved a lot of other analogies in it.

Somras, the Naga tribe...

Ganesh and Kali's introduction as Nagas is a brilliant idea. ❤️

Do read sometime if you haven't.

All in all a good post.

P.S. not an analogy but I made a comparison of Ego vs Insecurity of SaiRat a few days ago. Would love to read your opinion on it. Let me know and i will tag.
