Major change from KD right at start in Ghum

We all know ghum is a scene by scene copy from KD but unfortunately the script writers don’t follow the language Bengali very well x so they miss out many important dialogues ( inner monologues) which are important

KD had many monologues between Rono n emon . Before their wedding .. their fight was a little more dirty and Rono did not like emon ..found her a unruly n wild ..( bachal ) which is not exactly bachhchalan ..

he even taunted her that she’s leading gogna .. on and maybe wants to marry him ..he taunted that maybe she wants to trap him in marriage too . That’s why comes n meets him secretly .. so right at the start a sexual tension was built in emon Rono relationship..

Her father had a clue that maybe Rono was attracted to his daughter . And Rono had professional relationships with her dad ..

However the major drift is the vada …

When emon tells him I have no expectations from you from shadi .. ( pratyusha) .. Rono repeats it .. and says it in his mind .. how you have humiliated me as a man .. saying you need nothing from me. .. ok even I won’t give you anything
Then emon talks about RK .. he repeats it and says i am committed..

In his mind he was clear .. that he had used RK as a face saving excuse .. because emon said she wants nothing from him in marriage .. so it was a tit for tat

from the wedding night he admits he is attracted to her and it’s wrong because I was supposed to be in love with RK .. in his mind he says why am I drawn to you ..


In Ghum they have not cleared those thoughts .. virat is shown being attracted to Sai a lot later …and their is still duplicity in his attraction to pakhi

I too dont understand Bengali. But did Rono look upon Jayanta as his mentor (the same way as Virat adored KJ)

I am viewing the kannada version (again not understanding a word of what is spoken) but the sequence is slightly different.

Sai was scornful of VIrat, held him responsible for everything but there Spandana was all flirty with Vikranth. Sai had more spark, was doing MBBS whereas Spandana is a typical teenager, doing Engg.

Please add on. I am looking forward to the Marathi version now, which I can follow much better.

Kd is quite different from GHUM in the start...

In ghum what I have noticed virat was tad bit attracted to Sai in GC itself.. Without monologues I could see that.. He had the rush over feeling when he meets her for the first time... Makers took a good care of those small aspects from there to make their progression bit logical.. He was more into Sai unlike rono...

But after marriage I didn't like a lot of things between Virat and Pakhi post marriage... Especially their body language.. Now with Shruti..though I used to find virat more compassionate than Rono makes you feel like him him...

Rono tells RK to guide Emon because he doesn't like the way his family treats Emon.. Here Virat tells Pakhi to guide he because Sai is immature..

I don't like how Virat age shamed her in many occasions and I also didn't like Rono character assassinated emon at many occasions.. Roni called emon konkini at gc when she goes to know their plans at mid night, Rono calls her charitronin when he sees Emon's friend in their room and also he saw her mixing coffee for her colleague ..He also makes pregnant Emon stay outside whole night because she took care of jagtap ..

However the best part of KD was screenplay and male actors body language.. As a husband or as a human you would not feel disconnected with this character..

If ghum makers continued the flow from GC it would have been more beautiful than KD..

he was very terse with emon ..abd did not like her springing up on him .

Yes you are not disconnected to Rono .. he was a little austere from the start .. not friendly with most people .. he was never shown singing or dancing .. that’s why emon used to make fun of him ..

In KD, Emon also goes to beg for her father's transfer to Kolkata (Hope I am right) with folded hands. She practically requests Rono.

She also treats Rono with respect whereas Sai is 200% attitude.

In GHKKPM, Sai is 100% scorn for Virat "Aap koi doodh pete bacche hain..." No request, straight demands. Duniya gayi bhaad main.

In KD emon was not so naive …there was an underlying current of sexual tension between them .. Rono had told emon you are trying your womanly wiles .. Rono even asks her whether gogna was more physical with her .. and she gets scared ..

Sai is a lot more straight laced .. she is shown a Tom boyish girl .. all this birds n bees are absent .. yes virat is attracted to her ..but he never flirts with her

I can't believe people here used to say Ghum is superior to KD 🤣
