Hi All,

Posting the epilogue in a few minutes. A bit of romance of Samrakhi and of course Sairat can be seen.

Its an honest effort to write romance from my end. Writing adult matter has always been my weak point.

Your views are welcome.

Epilogue

The door to their bedroom was closed. Highly unusual, for Virat had come home early. Ashwini aai had mentioned this in no uncertain terms.

“Kay Bai…Sai Bai… these days the husband comes home early and waits for his queen!”

Sai had shrugged it off, or rather tried to, and was largely unsuccessful. What was her husband upto now? She knocked cautiously on the door.

It opened from within.

The lights were off.

Purely as a habit, her hand automatically reached out for the switch.

Then she heard it. Or rather, felt it. A presence behind her.

Again pure reflex on her part. Her stiffened hand lashed out and she heard a startled cry.

The lights came on. Virat, his hand clutching a bleeding nose, grinned at her sheepishly.

“Virat Sir!” Eyes wide with concern, she ran to him. And then ran to the drawer that had the first aid box. Minutes later, he was seated in a chair with his wife fussing over him.

“What were you upto, Virat Sir?”

“I just wanted to surprise you…Ouch…” an involuntary gasp, as she applied the antiseptic in a no-nonsense fashion. “And who had asked you to creep behind me like this? Don’t you know that I am trained in Karate?”

“That I am too. But as usual, a husband is defanged by his wife!” His hands crept around her slim waist. She was busy cutting a suitable size of plaster.

“Chup. Now keep quiet and still as I dress the wound further. Luckily I didn’t kick you in the stomach. Otherwise you would have landed in the ICU and the entire family would have roasted me!”

“That they can still do. Let them see me like this…” Virat’s hand gestured to his nose, which was swathed in a neat bandage by now. Sai, as usual, had the comeback as she gathered the first aid box.

“Of course, try it out…?”

Virat thought it over. These days, the entire Chavan clan was heavily polarized in favour of his wife. He doubted whether he would be even given a chance to defend himself. Starting with his own parents, Shivani Bua, Devi tai, his Jeeva, Mohit…the list was endless. And growing every day.

Fingers snapped in front of him. She was standing in front of him.

“Wake up! Dreaming beauty…”

His hands crept around her once again and pulled her closer.

“I give up!” He rubbed his face across her ample bosom. She turned his face towards her.

“Now don’t get ideas. I am doing this only because you are hurt…”

He sushed her with a finger on her lips. “My nose is hurt, not my lips! I can still…”

“Virat Sir!” She coloured to the roots.

“…talk. What did you think?”

“Virat Sir!” She mock punched him and he caught the punch neatly. Her cheeks were still reeling under the impact of his previous comment. His eyes had that look which she knew very well. It was going to be a long and wild night.

She was about to say something when the dinner gong sounded.

Dinner was as usual. Ashwini Aai and Sai served the food as the rest of the members engaged in their usual banter. The conversation was initially focussed around Virat’s bandaged nose.

“Shiva, your nose…” Samrat gave him a close scrutiny, holding on to his shoulders. “Got hurt? And I see that the personal physician has bandaged it pretty neatly…”

Ashwini aai caught on next. “Are deva..Godu! Kay zhale re..kuthe padla bidla ki kay? Dukhtay ka? (Oh God..Godu..what happened? Did you fall somewhere? Does it hurt?)

“Are Aai nothing. Just poked my nose where I shouldn’t…Don’t make a fuss!”

“Mast ha mast..Ashwini, don’t forget that he is a police officer. These sort of injuries are pretty normal. By the way, how are things, Virat?”

“The usual cases. Yesterday the top brass came down for inspection. And we all got a major finding. It seems all of us are out of shape!”

“The outcome of a happy married life…” Karishma muttered to herself. Mohit kicked her under the table. “By the way, what’s to be done for that, Dada?”

“DIG sir has left that decision to me. All of us are going for a full body medical checkup next week. And then, depending on the results…”

Samrat opened from his perch, looking sideways at his wife seated next to him. His foot was busy under the table with his wife’s counterpart. “Maybe you need a dietician consultation and a fitness trainer…Maybe?”

Patralekha looked daggers at her husband. Come to the room and I will give you back.

“A physician is always available, if need be…” Sai quipped and there was good natured laughter all around. Dinner was wrapped up soon.

It was late that night when Sai walked in her bedroom to retire for the day. Virat was going through a file.

“You are hiring a fitness trainer?”

“Hmmm…and also a dietician!” He closed the file, placed it neatly on the table. Sai was whisking the curtains to close as he crept to her, enveloping her from behind.

“Any recommendations?”

She turned around. Opened her mouth to say something and then closed it as an afterthought.

“Nobody…”

“How about Sadashiv?”

He could have knocked Sai down with a pin. “Who…who did you say?”

“Your friend, Sada…or Shiva, as he is known now?”

“You know about him?” Her voice was a little more than a whisper.

“Dr Sai Joshi Chavan, You might be mahaan, But I am a police officer! Of course I know what goes on, not only in this house, but also elsewhere. So….”

She put a finger on his lips. It was all so clear now.

“He won’t be needed for you. If you need to trim down, there is an activity which burns calories faster than any aerobic workout. Only you need your wife for that…”

“And that is…” Virat’s fingers were already busy, reaching under her nightdress. Her eyes glazed over as he demonstrated that his lips were not injured at all.

The moon rising outside their window smiled after all!

Sorry for commenting late... I had missed the flow of the story so had to go through all the chapters again. Finally happy ending with both SaiRat and SamRakhi...felt really good for Sammy. SaiRat as detectives and Virat as an abled officer are treat to read...we don't get intelligent Virat now at all in the show. Felt a bit bad for Sadashiv but loved how he does Pakhi's beizzati and how she is consoled by none other than her loving husband.
