Samrat was awesome. In response to pp's below the belt remark about Sairat sleeping separately he declared how he also slept in the guest room n asked her to stay in her maryaada in a fairly polite but very firm way. Good job. Virat - this is how you shut the woman up - politely yet without mincing words and publicly too not just in private.
I am becoming a big fan of Samrat. It can sometimes be frustrating when he is quiet or does not respond to something, but I don't think that is butchering his character, but it is in keeping with how he is. I have said in some previous posts he is very intelligent, logical and mature. He observes, listens and then forms a view and his perspective. He knows the difference between keeping things private and what is appropriate for public. He also understands deescalation, rather than further fueling a fire, but every time he reaches a certain tipping point, then that is when he will speak wherever he is, but he does it with such clarity and logical reasoning that the recipient of his answer (usually PK) has no response. He does not always answer the way we, as an audience, wishes he would answer, but actually tries to cut the issue off at its knees (like yesterday when he told PK indirectly he expects her to stay shant at least on that day). It feels he has authority in the house as the eldest brother. I would love another scene where he explodes like he did at PK after Sai returned when she climbed down the pipe. That has been one of favourite scenes of his and in ghum.
Virat can only speak firmly to pp in private. In public when she says nonsense he is almost always either mute or a paltu.
I am, very optimistically, hoping that his continued silence and PK going further and further away from the line in the sand is going to send him to a tipping point where he explodes. I think this is more likely if Sai continues taking a more mature line and if Virat sees her vileness from a cold position, being separated from Sai and not having his emotions for Sai swirling round when PK tries to instigate him (i.e. when Sai is part of a discussion with them). We almost saw it once during when Sai stood up for Mohit and he told her to she needs to stop taunting Sai, but Sai cut him off at that point before it escalated further.
Sai also gave it back to pp saying - focus on you/Samrat not me/Virat.
A very mature response from Sai. It was the right response and I think it was right that Samrat was the one to go in and shut her down with her own personal situation, rather than Sai stooping to PK's level. As much as I would have loved to see the old Sai with her savage responses, she handled it very exactly how she should have. I don't know if this going to form part of the story, but Sai's maturity and PK's childishness and vileness can be further brought to light and people like Ninad and BK could start to really see PK for what she has been trying to do.
They say that if you want to judge a person's character, you should look at how they behave with their juniors/subordinates not their equals/superiors. Bk treats everyone like trash. Everyone serves a purpose. They are all pawns in her game except Sai. And now Sai has been spared because she has some other ulterior interest or maybe shes bored of the fight, she has decided to move on. She herself is guilty of many many ill deeds and taana maaroing to Sai n literally everybody else! Yet she has got a clean chit without ever apologizing for her misdeeeds- whether with Sai or Devi because she is eldest and she decided to call truce and shed a gew crocodile tears aolut thinking of the whole family n taking their responsibility after nagesh chavan death... Full emotional manipulation karke nikal jaati hai. Plus theres the whole maryaadafor her age. So they have whitewashed Bk n also actually ninad far too much. Its difficult to accept them being on Sai's side like this without any real remorse and only because of Devi's random superstition. Its literally like those words from Devi flicked a switch in bk/ninad suddenly. 🙈🙄🤷
I agree with you here. I am surprised at myself at how much I have liked/accepted BK and Ninad's turn, albeit Ninad's was done with more progression. I think that is, in large part, due to how good the actors playing them are. They definitely have a lot to answer for, but I am glad it has not been a complete whitewash in the typical ITV sense. BK is still the same character, still treats everyone the same, but it is now just that she is siding with Sai and is being truthful about what she thinks about her (she had already long before accepted Sai was a good person with a pure heart). What they have not done is turned her complete good and someone who can be kept quiet by others. Also, her questions and discussion with Ashwini yesterday further showed that. I liked one particular dialogue of hers today, where she said that whatever she needs to say to Sai is a matter between them. I am hoping there could be some great scenes between the two of them in private. I would love to see something like Kaku accepting and apologising for her ill treatment in the past, but acknowledging (as she has done to others) that she has always thought of Sai as a good person. To keep it realistic, I would love to see BK say something like they are different people and they will undoubtedly continue to argue and fight in the future, but what Sai should realise from now on is that even if they do, that does not mean Sai is not a part of the family and that she and others care for her. I think that could be a good redemption arc for her, but which also addresses Sai's insecurity about being alone.
It was actually very realistic how Sai planned to put aaba's picture in the wall n get a bookshelf n reading lamp and decorate the room her way....she never did exercise such rights on Virats room even though technically it was hers too...it was their bedroom but Sai was always an outsider there. She always lived there like a guest in a hotel. Yet she had beautiful memories there. Its like the kind of hotel that perhaps if one were a business person or in airline industry or something that involves frequent travel- one might frequently go to a hotel so much that it actually becomes kinda homely.
I always had a grouse that Sai didnt even get to hang her aabas photo in that room. Always kept it in her almirah. The least Virat could've done is put up kamal sirs photo there. Kamal Sir meant something to him too....
I think in some of the earlier episodes it was outside by the mirror, but then was always in the almirah, which I always thought was odd. This could make for a great scene if Virat goes to the room and sees she has hung up his photo and he could ask her why she never did that in their room. This could really make him introspect about how she has really felt over the last year like an outsider with no haq. She has said a few times that it is his room and she is just staying there, but he's never really reflected on that. Then when they move back, him hanging up Aaba's picture in their room would be the ultimate sign that it is not his room, but theirs.
And todays FBs of Virat would be better if that bamboo plant and some photoframes of Sairat in his room had been shown. They missed out on those small touches. And it was really odd to see him feel happy rather than guilty looking at the pendant in his drawer. Does not look like he realized that she left it because she didn't feel like she had the haq to keep that gift...n also he didn't recall his harsh words when he saw her on his side of the cupboard either. But they tried to make up for it by showing him open the suitcase and take her dupatta as a keepsake for sentimental reasons....what happened to that hairclip of Sai's he used to keep under his pillow?! Pp flung one away but I'm sure Sai had more clips....
@Bold: I was confused by Neil in this scene, because he seemed happy, but it was unclear whether that was from the memory he had of Sai when she received it, because he looked quite hurt when he put the pendant back and closed the drawer and the door. I agree with you that the scene could have been more impactful if they had showed the clip of her last words to him when putting it back.
Precap is kinda interesting. Sonali hasnt learnt her lesson n is spewing venom again- saying hurtful things about being an orphan to Sai n Samrat/Ashwini/bk have all spoken up. Surprisingly this time Virat has too ....but he stops short in precap coz he does not know if he can call himself as Sais husband anymore. This introspection is much needed for him.... I'm interested to see what he says though....will he say I'm her "husband" or not....jaan neh ke liye dekhenge ghkkpm mon-sat! Lol 😅😅😅
