What happens if husband doesn't sign on time?

Like in case Virat was posted outstation and cannot be in time for her surgery, how would the operation proceed? Would they not operate because there is no one to sign?

Wouldn't hospitals have protocol on if a person has no relative or student in different city or not have good relationship with spouse?

They would just leave her in limbo with her brain open on the table. Then Virat can really figure out- Sai ke dimaag mein kya chal raha hai. 😆

I wouldn't take it too seriously. Someone else can consent. Though consent is usually taken prior to surgery, not halfway through it. Doesn't inspire confidence in the surgeon if they come out halfway through and are like...so yeah..I forgot to mention there might be complications and we might need to make some decisions on the fly.

In this case nearest family member can sign..when I have c section my ex was not in town so my father sign papers but if father is no there then family or friend( as I sing for my friend )can sign.

I had the sane question. In case of emergency, why can't any family member sign? Maybe anyone with appropriate knowledge can shed some light?

this is drama … ashwini being the next of kin .. mother in law to Sai could have signed ..

Yes virat has more right than anybody .. but he is not present .. ashwini could have signed in his behalf ..

Usually for critical accidents they won't wait for any sign..they will immediately start surgery or other procedures..

police will be there...if not police will be informed also.

How can the hosp authorities wait until the family signs?

Each second is imp ..if medical assistance is delayed it's dangerous for the patients..

But in normal surgery like pre planned ones where there is risk they will explain the consequences...get consent from immediate family etc . surgery only after that..

I think before important surgeries, signing is important... The hospitals dont go with these operations if its not been signed.. A lot was talked about it in Munnabhai also... That is a reality for sure.. They get a case slapped on them, if something goes wrong... So yeah.. However in such situations, if the closest relative is not there, the other one can sign...They dont wait for the member to come...

When there’s a surgery like this, I doubt they are going to halt it for Virat to drive across the town to hospital, every second is important, with blood loss and pain there will be fluctuation in blood pressure too, first thing one would do is prepare them for surgery

I take more time to recover from a sprain than Sai will from a brain injury so I guess it doesn’t really matter

Same thoughts came to my mind but couldn't find any logic
