I have always tried to remain a neutral viewer of this show, and I have even defended it during some of its worst moments. But, today, I just could not help myself.
There are so many things going wrong, that I do not even know where to begin.
I guess I will start with today's episode. The writers, for the sake of sasta stretching, have turned both Sai and Virat into complete idiots. I don't even want to get into an analysis of their mindsets anymore, because it is pointless. Not only are they going in circles now, but it is also personally becoming very difficult for me to be able to understand or relate to either of them. It is one thing to act being overclouded in your emotions, but it is an entirely different thing for that to be portrayed so illogically. Beginning with Sai. Shivani and Sunny's dialogues were spot on today, and yet Sai ignored all of them. We saw 0 introspection what-so-ever. Sunny point blank told her that Virat has tried to confess his love to her at multiple points, and what did we get from Sai? Absolutely nothing! Sunny is Virat's best friend. Shouldn't Sai have at least shown some reaction to this? This made her look so irritating to me for the first time ever. I did not feel for her. Even Shivani's dialogues about everything Virat has done for her and how it was not just a zimidari were really powerful. And yet, we saw no reflection.... I am not bashing Sai, but rather the writers and how they are choosing to show this track. Coming to Virat... I have deeply felt for him and his emotional issues up until this point...but again, his mental state is now being portrayed so unrealistically. How many times has Sai brought up the hand holding at this point? When he overheard the Sai-Samrat conversation, I understood why he was unable to see her POV even though to us, she was crystal clear. But, at this point, despite his inability to look outside of himself, the fact that he is not seeing what is bothering Sai is really infuriating and unbelievable. My point in all of this is just to say that the writers have successfully destroyed both of them by turned them into fools for the sake of prolonging the confession. But I guess it is working for them and getting them the TRPs, so who the hell are we????
Coming to the execution. I could go on and on about this.... but the jodi that once at the potential of living on even after the show ends and going down as legendary, is now being slowly destroyed. Where is the angst? Both of them are deeply in love.... and yet we are not seeing anywhere except in their eyes. Where is the tension in between SaiRat? NeilSha can only do so much with just their expressions. Their acting on their own is always spot on, but this is where the director is consistently failing them. I am not even asking for romance or close scenes... all I am saying is that their scenes are constantly being destroyed due to this team's lack of care... forget what actors are or are not comfortable with. I don't even want to get into that. But, it is the director's job to step in where the actors may falter... just to give a recent example. When Virat is coming out of the bathroom, it is so obvious that the bump was never going to happen. It looked so forced and fake. Yes, Virat is keeping distance, but they should have shown the first bump and then shown him to withdraw immediately. The way they showed it made it seem like both of them knew that they were going to bump into each other, but both of them stopped....it looked very unnatural. But, more recently... what is the need to show Virat and Pakhi standing together and Sai and Samrat??? It just leaves a bad taste in the mouth and is truly unnecessary. These are things that are repeatedly happening, and they need to be taken care of.
Content is an entirely separate topic in itself. Tell me why we are getting Pakhi's monologues more than Virat and Sai's? Why are we being subjected to hear her trying to make her devar jealous while she fools his brother into being with her? It is absolutely disgusting. And the cherry on top is that the makers and actors are still hell bent on proving and saying that she is a victim. Make it make sense to me... please... because I am truly at a loss for words. Mansi saying that Samrat should stay out of SaiRat's matters and Kaku agreeing yesterday was just WOW! The hypocrisy of these people never ends.... I understand that there is a need for drama...this is ITV afterall...but, there is a way to show all of this without being so vile and disgusting and regressive....
I try to ignore what goes on offscreen...but the fact that the ML is now directing reels for his offscreen partner but cannot promote his own jodi is simply something else ⭐️
I will stop here....
