Finally the chapter is here. Well a little shorter than usual but better short than nothing, right ?
Also I am going on vacation next week again so thought about updating before leaving.

I really hope you will like it even though it’s not exactly the way I had it in my head as I wanted it more angsty but well I think it’s not that bad either.

Sorry for taking so long to update and for not having enough time to write the story with better wording like I used to once upon a time for both the stories.

« Don’t worry aunty, we will drop her off safe and before midnight. », Neil promised to Saira’s mother.

Saira’s parents were letting her have fun with her friends without interposing. She needed to change her mind after all the things she went through. They also wanted her to forget their recent quarrel regarding their interference in the trio’s friendship.

He looked at her out of the corner of his eyes. She was looking absolute beauty in that white dress. It was forbidden to wear a color that could give her an angelic look and take his breath away.

« Nini, put some music on and let’s rock’n roll. », he requested to divert his mind.
« Yes Sir ! », she immediately browsed YouTube, « Oh damn, do you guys remember the movie Raaz. It was too scary. Bollywood makes good horror movies. », she remarked.
« 2000’s era was good. I was only ten or eleven when that movie came out. », Neil said.
« Raaz 2 and 3 were bad though. », Saira said.
« Yeah even the songs. First one had some awesome tracks compared to the other two.», Neil stated.
« Raaz songs were classic dude. Can’t be compared to nowadays remixes. », Naira replied.

Naira put her most favorite track of the movie, Aapke Pyaar Mein Hum Sawarne Lage. As soon as the lyrics said « Is kadar aapse humko mohabbat hui hai », Neil coughed nervously. Naira looked at him suspiciously. She wasn’t aware of the meaning of the song but she knew it was related to his unspoken feelings. She rolled her eyes when she saw that Saira didn’t even notice it.

About forty minutes later they reached Neil’s friend’s villa for a huge party. His friend didn’t mind a bunch of extra people. « The more the merrier », he had replied when Neil wanted to invite his two best friends. His rich friend was invited too, the one who was highly interested in Saira. Back then he wanted to arrange a date between the two but now things were different. When he spotted the two having a conversation in the middle of the party, he felt like punching him.

« I see we are having fun over here. », Neil joined them with a big fake smile.
« Don’t be jealous. I won’t steal her from you… or maybe I will who knows. », his friend joked.
« Typical boys. », she rolled her eyes and walked away.
« Finally you have accepted your feelings. I was wondering how long you were gonna ignore this perfection. », his friend said.
« As you have figured it out, stay away from your…sister-in-law. », Neil warned him nicely.
« Bros over… beauties. », his friend promised to behave.

Neil interacted with a few people before getting back to the girls who were having fun on their own. Saira got up to get a drink for herself and immediately a few steps away bumped into him. Naira leaped up as soon she saw the two collide but didn’t move an inch. Neil caught Saira on time from falling, their noses touching each other’s. Like a déjà vu feeling she closed her eyes and her mind went back to the horrific event. First the pools of blood and the dead bodies flashed before her eyes and then his face close to hers just like now. More her brain was digging to find the lost part of her memory more a piercing pain was hitting her head. She finally let out a scream holding her head. He helped her to stand on her straight position and called her name. She screamed in pain again.

« Saira calm down. Breathe. Look at me. », he cupped her face.
« Neil my head…», she tried to explain, breathless.

In between her screams she closed her eyes and the flashback of Neil kissing her and confessing his love flashed before her eyes. She reopened them in shock and shoved him away. He looked around him and noticed that everyone’s eyes were on them. He approached her again to calm her down but she pushed him again.

« What’s wrong with you ? », he asked.
« You kissed me, Neil. », she shouted.

Naira’s eyes popped out of her head from far. She knew, she had that feeling that something was going on between the two. Others had their mouth wide open either in surprise or because of the free popcorn worthy entertainment. Neil closed his eyes for two seconds and after taking a deep breath and with the fear of losing everything he approached her again.

« I am so sorry Saira. I thought I was losing you. I thought I will never see you again. I just panicked. », he defended himself.
« Why didn’t you tell me anything when I was trying to get my memory back ? », she asked furious.
« I didn’t want to lose you because what happened shouldn’t have happened. », he explained.
« Do you regret it ? », she asked upset.
« I am so sorry for ruining our friendship. », he apologized sadly.
« Do you regret it ? », she asked again but he was unable to admit that he was madly in love with her. « Your silence says it that you did indeed regret it. », she said as tears were rolling down her cheeks.

After shoving him violently, she turned around ready to leave. He held her hand to stop her.

« What are you mad at me for ? », he asked turning her to face her.
« When will you prioritize me, Neil ? When ? You and Naira have already proved me that you didn’t fight for our friendship even a bit and now again I don’t mean anything to you. », she said heartbroken.
« That’s not true. You know that you mean so much to me. », Neil defended himself.
« Shut up Neil, just shut up. », she retorted.
« Why are you so mad at me ? », he asked holding her by the shoulders, confused.
« Leave me. », she tried to release herself from his grip.

He hugged her to calm her down while she was struggling to push him away. That scene was quite amusing for Naira and the people around them. Saira, defeated, started to cry in his arms.

« I don’t know what’s going on. Are you upset that I crossed my limits or that I regret crossing them?», he asked breaking off the hug.

Saira wanted to leave again but he stopped her.

« Answer me so that I can understand what’s bothering you. », he said.
« You are an idiot ? », she said exasperated.
« I know. », he replied. « But for God’s sake tell me what I don’t know. », he added.
« What’s bothering me is that you always push me away be it in friendship or…», she said frustrated and with tears.
« Or what ? », he said trying to read her face, « I know I f*cked up and I am sor…», he wanted to apologize.
« You f*cked up. Really ? How can you regret your act, Neil ? How ? », she complained holding him by the collar.
He put his arm around her neck pinning his body against hers, « Saira, what are you trying to tell me?»
« I…», she was unable to speak.
« You what ? », he asked.
« I hoped… for a couple of seconds I hoped…», she tried again.
« What did you hope ? », he asked.
« THAT YOU LOVE ME… the way I love you… but I was wrong… so so wrong. », she finally blurted out.

Taken aback by the confession he took a step back and went numb. Naira opened her mouth wide in shock. She was too shocked to feel happy. Saira’s cheeks turned red, embarrassed and shocked by her own confession. She moved a few steps back ready to run.

« What did you just say ? », he held her hand to stop her from running away. « Saira. », he shook her holding by the shoulders as she went silent. « God damn Saira, your silence is killing me. », he looked into her eyes. « You can’t just go numb after throwing such words ? », he added.
« If you know what I said then why are you asking me again ? », she asked.
« I have been waiting for this moment for too long so excuse me if I am having hard time to believe what I heard. », he said trying to find his answers in her eyes.
« Lie. », she said.
« Lie ? Seriously ? Do you have any idea how difficult it was for me to see you getting married to someone else ? Do you have any idea how much I panicked thinking that I will lose you without telling you how much I love you ? Do you have any idea how difficult it was for me to hide my feelings ? », he asked angrily.
« And do you have any idea how difficult it was for me to think that my love was one sided because you didn’t have the guts to confess. », she asked angrily.
« And you, did you have the guts to confess ? », he asked back.
« I just did. », she replied with tears.

He let out a liberating squeal which scared both the girls then turned towards Saira again and embraced her tightly.

« I love you since forever but it took me so much time to understand. », he said pressing his forehead against hers.
« Why didn’t you tell me anything ? », she asked forehead against forehead.
« I feared that if the feelings weren’t mutual everything will fall apart. », he replied.
« Stupid, couldn’t you read in my eyes that I am madly in love with you ? Couldn’t you see it that the reason why I called off my wedding was you ? », she asked.
« I thought you were happy with the wedding. », he said.
« Till I wasn’t aware of my feelings but as soon as I realized that I love you I was looking for excuses to run away. », she replied.
« Why didn’t you share your feelings with me then ? », he asked still his forehead sticked to hers.
« Because I thought you won’t ever fall in love with a girl like me. », she replied.
« So I am not the only stupid one ? », he said while she gave him a slap on his shoulder. « What makes you think that I can’t fall for a girl like you ? You can drive any man crazy, me the first. », he added.
« I wasn’t the type of girl you were looking for or dated in the past. », she said.
« That’s why I am in love for the first time. », he replied.

A big smile appeared on Naira’s face and she ran towards them.

« Finally finally finally damn you both are slower than tortoises. Four years, it took you more than four years to accept your feelings…but I am so happy. », Naira jumped on them for a group hug.

« So dramatic. », commented one of the guests rolling her eyes.
« Four years of unspoken feelings, you won’t understand. », replied Neil’s rich friend to the girl and raised a toast from far winking at Neil.

« Let’s leave the party. I think we have served them enough content. », Neil said to both the girls by putting his one hand around Saira’s waist and the other one around Naira’s neck.
