I am sorry but isn’t this moral policing then? I am not talking about your reply but I am talking about the response and the comment for which this was replied to. I am seriously failing to understand this. If you say that the actor’s comments cannot be used, I understand but if the actions of a character is making some viewers to comment like that, how can it be wrong?
I am failing to understand the moral policing thing. I don’t call Pakhi his first wife but this seems like criticism/sarcasm by viewers who are frustrated. From my understanding, criticism of characters is allowed, just name calling isn’t. So I don’t see why one can’t do that. It is not name calling, but it is the inference made by some audience to whom it looks like Pakhi is Virat’s first wife. It looks more of a sarcasm than anything else. The whole show has mocked the sanctity of marriage and the viewers are just calling it out in my opinion. When Kaku asked Virat to feed Patralekha or when she asked him to take her to Ladakh saying man behel jayega too, people criticised the characters and rightly so. If one thinks that Virat is treating Pakhi like his first wife, it is pure sarcasm and they are mocking the character Virat. I don’t see a name calling, I also don’t see any attack on the actors too in it.
I respect the rules of IF. It has to be in place but my understanding is that a character can be criticised and forum members should respect and accept that each person can have their own views. I have read in the rules as well as DT notes in many threads asking forum members to accept that views can vary and just because their views don’t match, it doesn’t mean they can be mocked at, they can be put down or they can be reported. Everyone is entitled to have their own views and they can put forth their views. It just has to be in line with the forum rules and I don’t see any breach of it in this case.
There are quite a lot of members who support and criticise both the characters. I see so many neutral viewers against character Virat at the moment and rightfully so because he is failing in so many aspects. It is expected that he will be criticised but that doesn’t mean that forum has become one sided. A lot of us have tried to understand both the characters and compared to old times, I see so many new people who have supported/ defended Virat and has called out Sai too. If people are against Virat in this track, it is because of the story and that doesn’t mean anything else. There are people who have had a lot of expectations from the character Virat, who used to like the character a lot, who used to love And ship Sairat and their disappointment is coming out as sarcasm and mocking. That is all. Just my views.
Didn’t want to involve you or raise a complaint but what many people want is to be able to express their views and that not be stopped just because the views are not matching with one set of audience. If we stop them from saying this, there will be lot of other objections and we will be stopping them from saying those too even though they are all not against the rules of the forum. I don’t have any issue with any member but I have issue in the restrictions being put on when people express their views. I am frustrated that even when the track has upset the audience, the audience are not allowed to express their displeasure. If they do, it looks as though the forum has become one sided. It isn’t.
