Gabbar! What is with these two and giving names to themselves! This is one couple the likes of which I have never seen before! Mad, both of them!

As she looked up sniffling, with an unwilling half-smile, he went ahead, with a wicked twinkle in his eyes, “Tum nahi jaanti, ek IPS officer duso ke saamne kaise pesh aata hai, kitna stren aur reserved hote hai. The happiness on Sai’s face was a sight to behold! An inanimate HT like me could feel the joy and love radiating from her in waves! She was about to say something, when Gabbar Chavan went ahead and ruined it by going into another coughing fit.

Part 6

This man is really going to get punched in the face by his slip of a wife!

I looked on with interest, ready to listen to the next tirade Sai was going to subject Mr. IPS Chavan to, only to jolt up in shock as I watched Virat turning pale with pain.

Sai was turning frantic as his coughing fit went on, him not able to sip water even.

Which idiot nurse forgot to give this man a cup of water with a straw?! Who give a jug and glass for a post-surgery patient!

Arrrggghhhh! Give me a surgical ICU anyday! This is the height of irresponsibility!

Sai was trying everything possible from rubbing his chest, without disturbing the bandage to elevating the bed to ease his breathing, all the while watching her Virat Sir’s lips turning white from the pain. She had already pressed the call button, when he gave a final drawn-out heave and cough and subsided weakly, the coughing fit finally over.

Seriously impressed, this HT is, by the man’s threshold of pain! Anyone else would have lost consciousness.

By the time the nurse rushed in, Sai was already checking his bandages, turning him over ever so gently to check the exit wound as well.

Pale and sweaty, Mr. Chavan nodded a yes to the nurse’s query if she should increase the dose of pain medication being given through the IV, a major admission from his side as to how much pain he was in, going by his wife’s sudden intake of breath.

I just managed to get a look at Sai’s face when she turned to keep the glass back. The poor girl is shaken to the core, the banter forgotten as she remembered the seriousness of the injury and the wound.

The oxygen mask was put back on, to ease his breathing, and I could see the frustration on his face at not being able to speak. Idiot man! As if he would be able to, through the pain!

As Virat lay quiet, after the nurse left, heaving deep breaths to let out the pain, Sai turned quietly and took me up again. Come on HT, back to work!

Dunking me in water again, well, I let go of expressing my displeasure considering the current stress levels in the room, Sai pulled down the blanket to his waist and started sponging down his abdomen and waist, gently folding down the pyjama pants an inch to make sure she wipes all the sweaty areas.

The man is in pain, and he is still totally focussed on his wife! Look at him squinting in every which way to get a look at her face!

Should have listened to her, Dumbo Chavan!

Even in the middle of this, I could sense Virat, while unable to speak, trying anxiously to get a look from his wife. Sai was very calmly and methodically sponging him down, when suddenly she gave a shiver and a drop of warm liquid fell on me, followed by a drop falling on her Virat Sir’s abdomen.

I peeked up at her, as she had paused in the sponging, to see a white face, with eyes brimming over, just as her husband also realized that the warmth on his stomach was not hot bathwater, but his wife’s silent tears.

Still not able to speak, he raised a trembling hand to touch his wife on her shoulder, only for her to grab hold of that hand and press it over her face, and stand still, deep shudders wracking through her body.

The poor, poor, girl! Even an HT like I feel like bawling at the fear, helplessness and grief radiating out from her very posture.

All because of this idiot husband of hers, who just wouldn’t listen to her and shut up!!! Men are such idiots!!!

Looking at Virat, I could see the tears in his eyes as well, and his frustration at his inability to speak and console her, not that she needed any consoling. Sai had turned back to quietly completing the sponging, as much as she could without turning him over, and put me back on the tray. She looked him over to assure herself that he was okay, before sitting down on her stool and looking at him steadily, almost drinking him in through her eyes.

I can’t bear to watch the grief in her eyes, wonder what her Virat Sir must be feeling. He is crushed by her expression, if the iron grip he just took on her hand is anything to go by!

So now the HT has not only got attached but has also taken over a few of their traits like giving them names dumbo Chahvan🤣bahut khoob HT beta. Sahi ja rahe ho😆

It's amazing that he can feel their emotions and their love for each other too much. He likes them both and admires them both. Thank God for that. I don't want another love triangle here🤣

Sai's love for Virat and Virat's love for Sai is sprinkled all over in the little moments that you write. It's nice that HT is there to witness and report aaj this to us. Otherwise such lovely moments could bed missed from a human's eyes easily. The tiniest of trembling of her hands, that could've been missed by a human eye and the tears that even Virat could've missed if it had not fallen on his abdomen, HT is there to witness it all😳
