Firstly, I want to confess that I don't want to see grey shades in Virat's character.

The Virat-Pakhi in general and their rooftop conversations are cringeworthy for me like for others here.

However, I see Pakhi has shades of grey because not only her actions but her intentions cross boudries of morality.

I am not sure about Virat though. In his actions (the roof top conversations, caring for Pakhi(including today's precap), trying to include her in family affairs, if they are coming from genuine friendly concern (also guilt) I will give him benefit of doubt. I will say that his intentions are in right place but his actions cross boundaries of ethical behaviour for devar-bhabhi relationship(?). Also, he is naive to not see it that his actions are being interpreted differently by the other party.

If this is not true, he is as grey as Pakhi is.

For me intentions matter more than the actions.

What you guys think?

Yes I've always believed too that intentions matter more than actions. If intentions are pure, even negative actions can be forgiven because humans may not always be able to understand what is the ideal course of action, even if we have a clear picture of what would be the wrong thing to do. I think virat fits into this category.

He has very pure and selfless intentions for everyone. He also has his morals in the right place too, but he doesn't entirely understand what is the best way to deal with the situation he has put himself in with pakhi, because there are only two things that he morally knows are clear to him; that he has to put his family's happiness before himself (hence why he ignored his own happiness and convinced pakhi to continue with her marriage with samrat) and that in his eyes he had asked pakhi for a big favour with a guarantee of a promise in return for her favour, which according to him has to be honored (hence why he is always so concerned with not offending pakhi and always trying to assure her that his promise to her is still standing).

He doesn't understand that by making such a promise to pakhi, he has stopped her from being able to move on from him even after marrying his brother and that he is ultimately keeping hopes alive in her that they will be able to have a relationship. So this makes virat's character and his actions towards pakhi seem grey because he is being quite naive to the fact that it makes it look like he and pakhi are still in a relationship and having an affair despite being married to other people. He just thinks that by saying they are both just friends, that their secret conversations, their promising each other not to love anybody else, making sure not to have intimacy with their respective partners and interfering in each other's lives is not considered an affair.

I think Virat and Pakhi are both written to be grey characters. Personally, I prefer seeing character flaws in main leads because, in reality, no one is perfect. Not everyone is just black and white, everyone has flaws and the biggest lesson is when you learn about your flaws and correct them. I am hoping the makers will make V into such a character.

However, let's be real, we all giving him the benefit of doubt because he is the ML. If he was not the ML we would straight up say that this dude is seriously out of line and having an affair with his SIL. From his POV, he may think that his intentions are in the right place. However, his intentions would be actually correct if he just EXPLICITLY tell PP to move on and take back his promise.

@ Bold liked this alternative perspective too. If Virat has misplaced notions of ethical/moral behaviour, his realization and course correction journey would be beautiful to watch.

Just coz Sai is around, doesnt mean Virat doesn't love Paakhi anymore. He probably still sees Sai as bacchi. He might have noticed she looks beautiful, funny, rebel but given that they don't show OTT attraction, I would say he doesn't have any feelings towards Sai yet except care/ wanting to protect.

Its just 2 days since they are married though they know each other for sometime, so it would not be in line with his character if he suddenly is attracted to Sai within this timeframe.

If Samrat was around and Virat sees Samrat and Paakhi have normal relation/ conversation, he would have also felt the pain that Paakhi feels .

The difference is that because she is his brother's wife, so he calls their relation 'friendship', but he is probably crying inside too.

But Sai is no one to Paakhi. There is nothing stopping Paaki from being or showing that she is jealous and sad.

Virat knows this, probably thats what he felt when he saw Samrat-Pakhi's wedding. So he is trying to include her in everything.

Maybe Virat would have gotten himself transferred to a place to avoid seeing all this, but he knows Pakhi is stuck here. So he is trying to stay within the limit of their relation and help her as much as he can, but he still loves her.

It takes time to heal from a breakup and both Virat and Pakhi need the time.

Maybe if Samrat was around, it might have been different for Pakhi.

Virat can heal faster coz he doesn't have time to think about all this with Sai around. But Pakhi has nothing to do but think about Virat. It is not possible for her to even think about Samrat coz they never gotten a chance to even know each other

Thats why we need inner monologue of lead characters, which I hope they start showing soon.

Are you sure about this? Given his history of 2 day wala love..😆

@ Bold I agree. Bengali version had lot of monologues where we could know what is going on in their mind. All characters including the FL had their flaws, more for ML and Pakhi though. I wish for few here too.

I think it was not love to begin with. It was a mutual attraction from both sides. Everything was so rushed after they had met that they just didn't get enough time to ponder over their feelings.

LOLOL.... this just cracked me up... he has a record of falling in love in 2 days. That is how the entire story began.

Agreed. It's hard to tell what are they really thinking on the inside.

Lol.. I started watching post kamal sir's death only. I haven't seen episodes prior to it. I don't feel like watching Virat-Pakhi ka story, I assumed that there were many episodes dedicated to their love story 🤓.

I know everyone says 2 din ka pyaar, but is it literally 2 din ka pyaar and not exaggeration?

Guess they literally had 2 din wala pyaar

so 2 din ka shadi crosses out 2 din wala pyaar

So its Virat's character to fall in love in 2 days ?

Totally difficult to relate to him.
