What kind of a man would Samrat be?

From the little that we know of him -- through a small flashback and his breezy entry and exit, Samrat has grown up in insecurities of his own. Perhaps, his widowed mother Mansi was ill-treated at her inlaws and sent back to her maternal home after his father's death. Here, with all reins in the hand of Bhavani, everyone has to live at her mercy. Even in the childhood flashback, Virat is shown as the brat while Samrat is the 'bechara' bua ka beta type.

Cut to two decades later - they are now Jiva and Shiva (Jiva Mahala and Shivaji - the famous saying, Hota Jiva mhanun vachla Shiva - Because Jiva was there so Shiva was saved at Pratapgadh) and both are ready to sacrifice for each other.

Virat, who has this special blessing from God that he will always have someone's debt of saving his life, also had one as a child 😂 And he thought he would repay that debt by sacrificing a promising relationship with a girl, whose obsession he could not see or sense (I don't want to call Pakhi a victim because she made her choice of marriage despite having her father's support to call it off). Then, he friend zones the girl and is very clear about it but enters into a long phone conversation with her on her wedding night, which Samrat overhears.

Samrat decides to leave for duty, leaving his newlywed wife (and his beloved brother) to live her/their life the way she pleases. And disappears...

Has Samrat left because of the shock and hurt assuming that his brother has cheated him or has he gone away because he also wants to 'sacrifice' his love for Virat? Is he hiding and watching the conduct of his cousin and his new wife to decide what he should do next? Will he return when someone is needed to expose Pakhi or save Sai?

I think samrat is a honest person who demands and expect equal honestly from others especially his closed ones.

I think if paakhi loves anyone else except his brother he may have asked for an explanation and would have waited for paakhis love

But virat concealing the truth abt their relationship is unforgivable for samrat.

I think that is the reason he took off like it

When the hurt is big some people close themselves off. I think samrat is like that

I haven't been able to understand much about Samrat but his one dialogue stuck with me. When he went to see Pakhi, he told her that he stays in his mother's mayaka and nobody has ever made them feel unwelcome. This means that he is super conscious about this fact and probably treads carefully because of this?

From Samrat's angle, I think the devastation he felt when he heard Virat and Pakhi's phone call was less to do with his feelings for Pakhi and her non-reciprocity (he's spent even lesser than 2 days yoga wala love with her LOL) and more with the fact that he felt guilty for taking away his beloved brother's love from him. There was also a sense of betrayal but guilt took precedence. I think once he decides to come back and sees Virat with Sai, he will decide to save his brother and his wife from psycho Pakhi, fully knowing what her intentions are.

@bold- I didn't know that this was their nickname reference! Thank you for telling me. Also, I have a bit of a one track mind but if Virat is Shiva, then wasn't Shivaji Maharaj's favourite wife Sai?

Would he have left the house if it's his father's? We know Bhavani loves him but still did he face any insecurities (or did he see his mother suffer) because he's not the son of the family but the son of a daughter of that house? Why weren't any of the family members from his father's side present at his wedding with Patralekha?

Yes she was his first wife and most beloved wife, also called Saibai (which is why Jagtap kept singing Saibai Saibai while eve teasing Sai). She died much before Shivaji and it is said that the last word uttered by Shivaji was ‘Sai’. Incidentally, she died while he was preparing for the Afzal khan battle at Pratapgadh where Jiva had saved his life.

I think samrat left for both the reason. one, he felt betrayed by his own brother and second he thought by going away from their life he will allow them to live their life as they pleases.

He was angry with both of them as he admitted in his drunken state that both virat and pakhi has ruined his life. Though virat believed that samrat started loving pakhi but come on we all know its not possible. Samrat was just floored by her looks. He didnt love her but yes he did ask her if she is not happy with this rishta she can tell him and he will back out. at that time pakhi said no and samrat trusted her. So both virat and pakhi broke his trust and he felt cheated.

Then next day morning when he was about to leave he was not showing any anger towards pakhi and even gave his cheque book for the expenses. This shows that he wanted her to live happily without any tension. He must have felt that "Jo ho gaya so ho gaya" virat is his brother after all and if pakhi loves virat then he should not come between them.
