I understand the serial is based on love triangle- between Virat, Pakhi and Sai/

But just to be on lighter side- why does Virat needs to Marry Sai?? He can be her brother also and take care of her- Chavan family can adopt Sai 🤪🤪🤪 she becomes his sister and he takes care of her and fulfills his promise too. Makes her doctor and gets her married to suitable boy. Muh bola bhai...or Godfather/ brother...

Again why a responsible boy like him didn’t invite his family for marriage or even inform them about the situation and the marriage too.

And sunny knows what he is doing but none of his family whom he values so much.

We are yet to see how they accept Sai as their DIL😆.Chavans are a bunch of fools😆 I don't think they have in them that 'bada dil' to do such a great deed😆

I think the marriage was necessary and today's episode did a good job explaining that. Vitthal is a powerful man and he could easily get himself and his son out of jail. So that would pose a great threat for Sai as she has no real family. Yes, you might say that well would have been in Nagpur for college, but he could still go there and threaten her. The villagers wanted to secure her life by getting her married to Virat. We also saw that the villagers didn't stand up for Sai today when Vittal was making derogatory comments about her character because they were scared for themselves and their own family. When Usha mausi said to Virat that you are the only one who can protect Sai from the goons, I think he also understood that if he had left then Sai could have been in real danger.

Also, his family adopting her is not gonna happen because legally idk if you can adopt an adult..lol... Moreover, NOW after the marriage, Sai is part of the family legally. They can not just abandon her. If let's say, she just moved into their family and she had an argument in the family, they could kick her out cuz technically she is an adult and has no legal obligation to stay there. BUT with the marriage, she can at least feel like part of the family and not feel like they are doing her a favor.

I just answered this in another thread too so I will just post what I wrote there:

In a conservative society, a man can only take responsibility of a woman when there is a legitimately recognised relationship between them, without which society will not merely raise eyebrows and gossip behind close doors, but may lead to public humiliation and marginalisation of the woman more than the man.

Also will his family really accept an unknown woman into the house and take full responsibility for her when she is in no way related to them? No, because they don't need to. Again it comes down to the society and community you live in.

In a less conservative society like here in the UK, nobody would bat an eye against a girl's character if a guy looks after a girl who is no way related to him because they would assume they are dating or just close friends and nobody would make a deal of it. But that depends on the society you live in only.

Aptly put. You can't legally adopt an adult, and the family in actual are not obliged to take full responsibility of a girl who is in no way related to them, so there is 0 guarantee the family would take responsibility for her if virat just decided to let her stay there without any relation, plus every family has friends and relative, who would obviously ask questions and talk about why there is a girl in the house who in no way related to them. It would be sai who would have to listen to taunts if she just lived there without a relation.

Yeah but even in this century we have very conservative societies and some countries where rights and responsibilities between a man and woman can only be acceptable in society's eyes through a legitimate relationship, especially from religious communities.

In western countries too there are close-knit religious communities where people know about and talk about what happens in their neighbors homes, and communities shun a person when they have done something they deem wrong and inappropriate, and I've seen two instances of this already over the years in my community where I live in England where it's a mostly south asian dominated area, although some of the things I only got to know about many years later when I was older and actually allowed to be around the elders whilst they gossiped about what X neighbour or Y relative has done and now nobody invites them to weddings and funerals for that reason blah blah😆 The perks of being an adult 😆

That too daughter of a police officer who will get protection and job because her father died on line of duty

Sai is not living in the society anyway, she is going to Nagpur, most importantly she'll got to an institute and live in a hostel for 5 years to complete her degree

And as an IPS officer Virat was supposed to know these things and convince Sai's villagers
