Nice post 😊
I agree to what u said about the show being regressive and many of them think they are encouraging attrocities on woman which isnt true !! Such things still happen, its just that most of them are not ready to accept it !!

Coming to the characters, my thoughts differ a little from yours about all the lead characters you have talked about !! Here is my take on them 😳

Rangeela - A character who is shown to be a loyal slave of a rich family from his childhood !! He is been brought up by his master and his family and so he has imbibed many of the qualities of his master !! But he has also got another good side which he has inherited from his mother !! He is even shown as an educated guy !! He is very loyal and there have been many instances and scenes in the show which highlight his loyalty !! The issue here is he is shown as a bipolar character, as a guy who is bad and good at the same time !! Also, coming to his loyalty towards his master, he did cross the line when he almost kidnapped Shivani and took her to hospital !! None of the Chaudhry's (except Maaldawali) are aware of this even today !! He even lied to Veer directly to save drunken Shivani !! He lied to complete Chaudhry family and freed Shivani from Berehampur !! He did all this to help someone which is good but the point is he did go against his Maalik and this very thing contradicts his " loyal slave " tag because he did all this on his own !! He was seen preaching about "Aurat Samman" last week and then in the same episode he was ready to kidnap one more girl for Veer 😕 If not Shivani, someone other gal will have to undergo the same torture and may be Veer might force himself on her also ?

Veer - I had loads of expectations from this character but makers disappointed me big time He is shown as someone who is possessive about his wife and scolded his Ghulaam for raising his voice against her !! After few episodes, the same guy asks his Ghulaam to watch over his wife , asks him to torture her , punish her in every possible way !! He gets easily manipulated by people around him be it Maaldawali or Jageer leaving him look dumb !! He likes Rangeela and treats him as his brother, that brother whom he tortures without any hesitation and can go to any extent to punish and hurt him like he made him do ab crunches when Rangeela was injured He just wants Rangeela to be alive because he knows he can never get such a loyal Ghulaam again but here also he became ready to let Rangeela hang himself !! He was shown to be feeling bad for Rangeela but if his feelings were really true, he should have stopped Rangeela rather than celebrating his death like a festival !! Also, Veer's character is used as a medium to show some sense less scenes between Shivani-Rangeela 😕 He is ruled by his male ego and can do anything to satisfy it !!

Many of them find the relation between Rangeela-Veer to be the best one but i find it diluted and untrue because both of them at some point have not been true to other

Shivani - A docile, naive and timid gal whose life takes 360 degree turn once she marries Rangeela and enters Berehampur !! Most of them are irritated with her constant crying, even i did initially !! But to be honest if we see from the start of the show, she is only character who had growth and is consistent for me !! She always believed in "Ek Pati, Ek Vivaah" concept even before her marriage and even today she believes in the same thing !! She hated Rangeela after coming to Berehampur but after knowing his past, her thoughts and feelings about him changed !! The thing I disliked most is makers made her confess her love over night !! It would have been good if they showed us a gradual growth in her feelings which turned into love seeing the good side of Rangeela !! She has been consistent be it in helping others or being firm on her beliefs !! She despised Rangeela but never accepted Veer either !! Her beliefs and morals might sound outdated for most of the modern women but as Rangeela is grown up to be a slave , Shivani is grown up with all those beliefs and values !!
Tbh, i also dint like when she returned to Berehampur but then how will the story move forward ?? How will Rangeela change ? He sent her back to Sambar and got ready to get one more girl for Veer 😆😆 When and how will all this change ? So they had to bring back Shivani , yes her reason to come back might sound lame and unacceptable to many but it's her love and her belief in destiny which brought her back !! She isn't forcing Rangeela to accept her but is confident that one day she will win his love !!

@ Bold

This is good!👏
Shivani no one else, she showers Rangeela with love and patiently waiting!

Love is a reason why Shivani has returned to B'pur, she will wait, endure all the torture of Veer and his family, but will not give up, from love to Rangeela and to the last breath, hope that Rangeela will return her feelings!

Manmeet the best male character in the series.

Little is known about him, he is destroying himself with drugs ... although I think he is trying, for some its disappointment in life, pain with taking drugs to forget.

Manmeet for me has been the most promising male character in the show !! The changes and growth in this character has been gradual !! He is an educated guy who for reasons unknown to us has been a victim for drugs , even then is sensible enough to atleast try and protect his wife and stand for her infront of his family !! He might have been shown as a drug addict who is always on nasha and does things in nasha only but the progress in his and Rashmi's relation and story is very good 👏👏His back story and his relationship growth with Rashmi would be very interesting to watch !!

Tbh, I wonder the writers who write Manmeet-Rashmi story are the same ones who write about other characters 😕😕

About manmeet.one of the good and promising character of the show but cvs are not focusing on their story ..bdw from tomorrow epi one thing is clear manmeet doesn't want to talk about his clg ..when Rashmi asked him he clearly lied to her that he never attended clg...
So may be something bad happened with him in clg which lead to him in drugs and so be doesn't want to talk about it..

Hopefully CVS shows his story

Im so glad you made this post. Ive been wanting to make a post in such context for a while but I was hesitating as im a silent reader in this forum and have never spoken before. But i personally believe that ghulaam is like a breath of fresh air, its not a drama thats seen on every other channel with the same love story. All the characters have so much depth and beauty to them. And at first shivani definitely irritated me as well, but as the show progressed i grew a liking for her and absolutely love her with rangeela. In our society its usually the guy chasing after the girl because maybe its not seen as lady like for the girl to be proposing and pursing the guy, but the reality is women can like men first as well. It doesn't always have to be the guy saving the girl and fighting for her. I think theres a girl in ever women that low key would want to have the confidence to go fight for the guy she likes. So i dont think that shivanis character is that bad, she's just a different character that might not be as easy to relate to but theres a shivani in all of us. No? She can be said to be weak physically but she's very mentally brave and thats what matters. It breaks my heart to see so many people not enjoying her character but really just give her a chance. This shows very unique and very beautifully portrayed and doesn't receive enough appreciation

@barunlove21..exactly what u say..wait for the day when Rangeela starts loving Shivani..automatically Shivani bashers will accept her..As I have told in earlier posts..Love is not a competition that who does what first or how..it is the end product and the balance..One partner may not be open..then other one has to come forth.when there is hint of mutual feelings of care concern..Love doesnt means always saying I love u or hugging, kissing..etc..worrying for someone, caring is also a form of feeling...Dont we see such instances in real life too among friends nd families? And girl proposing boy is not new in Indian culture...Subhadra wrote to Lord Krishna to elope her away as she loved him..and He did same..
